About six inches away. My friend and I were standing behind the barricades waiting for him to come out of the theatre. We were waiting for pictures/autographs.

We don't know what agreement they entered in concerning the adoption. She might have been in better shape when she gave the baby away (probably abstaining from drugs, etc. while she was pregnant-hopefully) and then going downhill after the adoption. They might have decided to cut contact until she got clean. And sadly, that never happened.

Aww, I saw him after "Boy From Oz" (which I loved) one night, and didn't notice any bad breath. Actually, he was really charming. The theatre is one where the main entrance is on one street, and the back entrance another. I was cutting down the street to go to my hotel, and there was a HUGE group blocking the sidewalk. I couldn't figure it out. Anyway, it was Jackman, who was signing autographs and talking to fans. The security guard started moving Jackman towards the car, and the crowd kind of did that move-y thing. Another girl, who also wasn't part of fan crowd, and was just walking down the street kind of blankly, got shoved off the sidewalk. Jackman's security guard helped her, but Jackman got the crowd settled down and talked to the girl.
It was quite funny, because she obviously recognized him once she was up. It was really nice of him, and very theater actor versus movie star behavior. Even better, I never saw one article or mention in the press about it. Tom Cruise would have talked about how he saved someone from being killed.

It's kind of surprising that he's already been on People's Most Beautiful list four times, more than Jude or Leonardo. X-Men was released in '00 - that's relatively recent success.

At this year's Nickelodeon's "Kids' Choice Awards," he lost a belching contest to Justin Timberlake, aka "Punk-Ass Bitch." Oh, well. At least HJ will never lose a singing contest to him.

Bumping this thread to honor Hugh's mighty fine return to Wolverine! Not only is he smoking hot, par usual, but in this film he really runs the gamut of emotions. Another great job!

Who cares about the rest in X-Men when you have Hugh as Wolverine running around.
