Yes, the source of the news is supposedly one of Grohl's daughters sharing it on a livestream. Very, very sketchy.
It wouldn't be front page news, but there would definitely be an obituary somewhere, and there are none.
Hopefully she's still alive and healthy!

Yes, this is weird. That article said she died a month ago, yet no news reports. She was a well-known published author in her own right, so her passing would have made the reputable news.
Plus Dave was just onstage in LA with Beck and Tenacious D doing a bit of comedy for charity, and it's doubtful that he would have done so this soon after losing his mother. We've all seen how close he is to her, so I really hope this is just a case of seriously bad reporting.

Hmmmm....I follow an instagram account called discogrohl. It's a fan account, but they always seem to be on top of the latest and are very reliable. They posted condolences to the Hanlon/Grohl families today. Didn't say what prompted the post.

I think I will believe it when and if Dave announces it. I understand there is a desire to break news among social media outlets. But I don't really understand the instinct of fan accounts to jump on news like that ahead of the person they are a fan of. If it is true, and it's not announced by official means, isn't there a reason for that which true fans would respect?

That's the sad thing about certain hardcore fans: they don't respect their favorite celebrity's private life and want every crumb of detail on their lives. I remember Bob Dylan has to sue a "fan" who was digging through his trash, and collecting even his son Jakob's diapers. Dave has been famous since 1991, and the intensity hasn't died down from some Nirvana/Foo Fighters fans. If Virginia has died (her pre-married name was Hanlon), I respect Dave's right to privacy to grieve his mother, and I feel the deepest empathy for losing Taylor and Virginia in the same year. |

Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in Wembley is streaming on YouTube it’s rather damn good.
Dave and Daughter Violet just played together and 16 year Violet just rocked Jeff Buckley in front ofa fairly packed crowd in Wembley!

James Gang apparently reformed for this , honestly they are new to me as of today, absolutely loving them, the telly volume is getting louder with each set.

I’ve been watching it since Liam Gallagher so the start too I think and I’ve not switched away.
It wasn’t on my radar until I saw the link on twitter just minutes before start I’m so glad I didn’t miss it. There parts I wish I could be recording.
