That was an outstanding concert from start to finish. All of the acts were performers that Taylor either admired or played with, and they played some of his favorite songs from their catalogs. That was very touching.
I loved all of the young people and was blown away by their talent. I don't know how Dave kept it together the whole time and really felt for him when he started getting emotional. Ending with his solo version of Everlong was perfect, and a fitting tribute to his best friend. I cried a lot during the show, it was incredibly well done.
I look forward to the LA show later this month.

It was a great show. Also struck me how many of the people performing were also part of groups that had lost a key player. There’s no doubt that Roger and Brian understood fully the connection in what they were doing in the Queen / Foo Fighters segment. But so many others have gone through it too.

Now convinced that Dave Grohl + Young Person = Pure Freaking Magic I have thought that in an alternate timeline, Dave Grohl would be a real-life Dewey Finn, running a school where he'd teach kids How to Rock.

Am I the only one who had the thought that I was grateful the Taylor tribute in London happened last weekend before the national mourning period wiped out all events from the calendar?

Am I the only one who had the thought that I was grateful the Taylor tribute in London happened last weekend before the national mourning period wiped out all events from the calendar? I agree, ahah! I'm not sorry that I'm more sad over the premature death of Taylor than a grossly over-privileged white and powerless figurehead who lived past 90. Also, since I'm not the warmest towards Mr. Grohl, I have to say...the Foo Fighters' new album is VERY good! I really love Dave as a drummer, and I love the return of hearing him behind the drum kit. It's not always that bad times makes good music, but I can't deny that this is their best album since The Colour and the Shape. Rest in peace Taylor and Virginia.
