There's a saying that a man is only as faithful as his options, which I hate to think is true, but Dave obviously is out on the road a lot with temptations all around. But if a man doesn't want any more kids, get the snip.

There's depressing anecdotal evidence in articles from women who worked as "honey traps" for wives and girlfriends wanting to know if their SO would cheat that almost all would. Although that would obviously skew to people who were already suspicious that cheating was going on so who knows.

I was surprisingly disappointed in him when I heard it. I don't think that automatically makes him a horrible person, more like someone who failed in one aspect of his life. While it does sound like he was trying to get ahead of the news breaking - I do think that it was a decent statement that made clear he intends to be a presence in her life, but also recognizes that he's hurting a lot of people he loves. So good on him I guess?

It's very good he appears to want to be in her life but a statement that publicly includes wanting to work towards forgiveness the sentence after admitting to fathering a child outside of marriage does seem a little wild to me.

There are rumours swirling that the baby’s mother is one of his eldest daughter’s friends. I really hope that isn’t true as that adds a whole additional level of grossness to this as well as additional hurt for his daughters.

Sounds like the tabloids likely got wind of this news. I don’t follow him that closely but as others have reported, he’s got a long buried history order being a cheater.

Oh god I hope not. That's just a whole other level of betrayal to an already horrible situation. I wonder if that is the reason his daughter deactivated her IG.

I hope that the rumor of the daughters friend is false. I have a hard time believing that is true.

I would suspect the girls were advised to deactivate their accounts due to past experiences. Remember, the whole reason for Dave's "feud" with Taylor Swift was that Violet was attacked by Swifties for daring to say she wished Taylor would drive places instead of always flying. So it makes sense to me that in a time that the family was under scrutiny, steps would be taken to protect them.

I think it's probably someone more age-appropriate (although obviously a decade or more younger if she's still fertile.) I just can't wrap my head around being SO WRONG about him.

Fun fact, he used to come into the record store I worked at in DC (late 80s-early 90s) and was so pleasant. I remember him buying Shonen Knife and Urge Overkill records.

This is disappointing. I was neutral about him until I saw the BeeGees cover he did. Then I rather liked him. I was JUST having a conversation with my bestie about how naive I was about "rockstar" behaviour.

It's funny to me that people are so shocked by this. Sure, he comes across as a relatively good guy in a world where people are hot messes. But... mid life crisis..... Rock Star..... The world we live in.
