Something about her goes beyond being "ghetto." Remember, a week after three family members were killed, she posted pictures of herself with a new man and included captions like: "Now that Jason's gone I'm the prettiest one." Something is really, really off about her. Whoa. Julia did this? Wowza. MediaTakeOut.com had that story. I don't know how reliable they are, though, or if anyone else corroborated it. Balfour's defense is claiming that Jason Hudson was a drug dealer and police didn't pursue any leads that might implicate a killer among his drug connections. Does anyone know how into the game he was?

I'm shocked at how many people are judging Jennifer Hudson (and now Patrick Duffy) for not living like hermits. People die. It's a fact of life. In their cases, it was murders, which is far more shocking, but what are they supposed to do? Wow, I can't believe I missed the resulting discussion. I can't speak for anyone else, but I,personally, was not judging Jennifer. I quite specifically said that I admired the way she has been able to persevere. I don't know if I'd be able to keep it together like she has if I had to go through a similar situation. Yes, most people have to deal with death, but having your mother, brother and nephew murdered by your sister's husband is unusually tragic. She has made quite a few statements in the past few years along the lines of her weight loss helping her find her joy and being a big breakthrough in her life. I wish her nothing but happiness and can understand her having multiple reasons for not wanting to dwell on her personal tragedies in public.

Audio Released of Julia Hudson's 911 callI understand that the 911 operators are just doing their jobs and that people will call sounding hysterical and all...but sometimes I question their tone and lack of believing what's happening. Maybe it's different because I already know what happened and then I hear the call after the fact.

I agree, Spin. I'll listen to recordings & sometimes, I just want to reach through the phone & smack the operator.

An article pondering if Jennifer Hudson is getting special star treatment at trialYa know, in reading what kind of treatment she's getting, I don't think it seems so outlandish. If I had to sit in the same room as the man accused of killing three of my family members and who had made threats to kill the whole family- I'd want some body guards with me too. Plus, this is a very grizzly case, she is a star.... and the papparazzi are vultures, yo! It's not the first time I've heard of a victims' family member being allowed to leave during the nasty parts of the tesimony- or when pictures are being shown. And as far as getting to sit in the Judge's chamber- big whoop. She's not an eye witness, just a witness, and she's already given her testimony. It's not like she has anything else to whisper in the Judge's ear that would alter the case. It would be different if she was the accused being treated like this. But I see nothing wrong in giving her a break, star or not. That was her mother and brother who were killed and God bless her, she was the one who had to identify her little nephew's body. I don't think it's going to hurt to give her a little extra protection during the trial (both physically and emotionally)

That attorney sounds pressed. Balfour's rights aren't being harmed. The court is extending special courtesies to the victim's daughter, who happens to be a celebrity.

From the article:
I'm guessing that Jennifer's sister also takes the special elevator and takes steps to avoid the paps. Manny Medrano is reaching.
And the more I read about this trial and the case, the more angry I am. Julia knew that this Balfour guy was mentally unstable, yet she never called the cops or filed an order of protection, even when he stalked her, threatened to kill her and her family, and threatened to kidnap her child. You'd think her baby's safety would be enough to send her running to the police. She kept having sex with Balfour to boot, and didn't file for divorce until late 2011. She even let him into her house the day of the murders, where she had a bunch of balloons from her new boyfriend. She had to know this would piss off Mr. William "Sure I've got a bunch of chicks on the side but if you even think of dating another man your ass is grass" Balfour. My God, what did she expect? IMO, if it turns out Balfour is guilty, then Julia has blood on her hands.

That sounds like blaming the victim to me.

Maybe it's different because I already know what happened and then I hear the call after the fact. I think what's annoying to the person listening after the fact is that we know what's going on. I could tell she said "Somebody killed my mother" because I saw it in the headline- it was pretty muffled and she wasn't very coherent. Understandably so, but as a 911 operator your job is to find out what's going on, so you have to repeat what they're saying to get confirmation.
