I think her character in Erin Brokovich is probably really close to her actual personality. Generally unpleasant, DO NOT cross her, but when she likes you, or you make her look good, she will go to the end of the earth for you. Anyone hear about the bizarre and harsh eulogy she did at her sister's funeral? Yeah, she's not a pleasant person or a forgiving one. I'm sure that I don't know all the circumstances, but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Also, I realize that funerals are more casual these days, but she looks like she wore pajamas and didn't bother to pack a comb. I think her speech was unseemly at best.

It's an article about an unhappy person's untimely death, and yet I can't help but laugh at the nonsensical, shit-stirring mess that is that Daily Fail article. Obviously, they want to trash Julia. (I love how they chose a picture of her smiling at the funeral.) I mean, what is this caption? WTF? Was it heartfelt and moving or was it harsh and bizarre? And who even said those things? It's not even in the article!

There must be some unwritten rule that her laugh must be featured in the trailers for every movie she does. I just saw one for her new movie and sure enough, there it is, a snippet of her and that irritating laugh.

I just saw one for her new movie and sure enough, there it is, a snippet of her and that irritating laugh. That and a comment about her otherworldly beauty. Which one of the Oceans movies was it when she come clomping down the stairs and everyone's all... "Wow". I mean in a movie with Catherine Zeta Jones as the other female star, really? CZJ is and was in that movie flat out gorgeous. Reminds me of the Beverly Hills 90210 insistence that Kelly was the most beauteous thing when she was standing next to Valerie. Again.. whaaa? Kelly was white bread toast and Val was chocolate brioche. Like come on people. Eta: I'm not disparaging Julia or Jenni Garth's looks. On a superficial level they're attractive people. I tend not to find Julia attractive based on what I know of her personality. And if on a purely superficial level they're standing next to other people I find subjectively more attractive. Mileage varies etc.

Don't you ever wonder how all of those gossip rag writers sleep at night? To know that they are exaggerating or downright making stuff up to trash someone's reputation -- what an awful job. I actually feel sorry for Julia. She had a complicated relationship with a sister who had a lot of demons, it sounds like. I would hate to have that and her tragic death manipulated by the press. Once again, I am glad I am not famous.

She wore a dress to the funeral- the first picture is of the funeral. The second picture is just a day where she accompanied her mother to church. I don't trust a word of the Daily Mail in this story. I believe they paid her sister's boyfriend for stories after she died, so they would just keep up their "what a horrible sister Julia was" storyline.

I’ve heard about some lovely things she’s done for her friends, but then I’ve heard several “she’s the worst” stories about how she treats everyone else. I can’t remember exactly what he said now, but I remember after they broke up Benjamin Bratt said something about the effect fame has on people and implied that it made Julia hard and cruel.

In general, I don't judge Julia for anything involving her brother Eric or sister Nancy. There were/are both extremely difficult and troubled people and it's not Julia's fault she wound up in the same family with them. Funerals of people who have essentially killed themselves can be handled in different ways. I've been to funerals where the elephant in the room was completely ignored and everybody shared happy memories as if the person had no problems at all, and I've been to funerals where the survivors were a little more candid about their feelings. It sounds like Nancy's funeral was the latter.

Well I am inexplicably relieved since I don't like her and didn't bring her up. And I will sentence myself to wet noodle lashes for believing the Daily Mail report. Given the notes left by her sister, and what we know of Julia's personality, I doubt she was much of a sister, but the DM is not a reliable sauce. Shame on rio. Since I don't have any wet noodles around I will eat some Chocolate Brownie ice cream instead.

I think she's got some sort of movie coming out (I don't know), which is why she's doing magazines. I know she's not everyone's favorite (and isn't mine, either), but I just want to give her credit for not completely ruining her face.Sure, she looks great for 50. Sure, she's probably had something done. But she hasn't tried to have the skin of a 20 year old at 50, and as a result I think she looks great. She's got the fine lines, but she still looks good because she has them and isn't trying to have a face as smooth as glass when nature wants her to have something else.
