Threads that come up before "Julia Roberts" when you search "Julia Roberts": Eric Roberts, Emma Roberts, Julianna Marguiles, Julian McMahon, Raul Julia, Julie Delpy and literally almost every single other thread because Julia Roberts finally showed up on page 14 of 15 total pages.
In regards to Homecoming: One thing you notice about it is that Julia appears to be aging naturally. She's 51 years old and she looks like a 51-year old woman in this. Sissy Spacek is in this and she was also in another project called Castle Rock earlier this year. I remember talking to someone about how great Sissy looked for an older actress in that, but in the Homecoming scenes she shares with Julia, it really highlights how much work Sissy has had done. The story doesn't really hinge on Julia playing Hollywood unattractive, either. It really is kind of jarring to see a major name, lead actress like that. Especially because it's obvious that some scenes are intentionally shot way less flattering than they had to be.
Sissy Spacek in high school. She looks like a completely different person. Her nose job completely changed her face. Can't tell what she's had done recently.
Julia has great bone structure and her face is interesting. I'm glad she's never had anything major done. She's always had a very unique look.

I found Sissy’s nose job really obvious in a bad way in Castle Rock 😬

She looks great (mostly because she allowed herself to age naturally) and she's in great shape. I wish more actresses would do the same.
Sissy looks better with her original nose. Though I get why she bought the one she got - it really fits in with the beauty standard going on in the 70s (up through the early 90s, really).
Make it easier for your citizens to be healthy and smart and they will save you in ways you have yet to imagine. Make it difficult and your nation will swirl history’s toilet on its way to hell. - Rob Delaney
I loved the Homecoming podcast and wasn't planning to watch the show due to that and my general level of disgust with Julia Roberts. I found myself with a connecting flight and a need to download something fast, so I watched the series. I can't stand watching her in most things anymore, but I was able to get through this. At any given time, somewhere between 15-30% of my being was absorbed by intrusive thoughts about what an unpleasant, mean, ruthless, person she is. Those are high marks from me.
I'm not sure that her look in Homecoming was 100% natural, I think they used some makeup and possibly prosthetics, because I do think she has some subtle work. This could be due to my extreme reluctance to give her any credit for anything whatsoever, but she is allowing herself to age relatively naturally.
I wouldn't be surprised if she's had something done, but whatever it is it's subtle enough that she looks good in a very, very natural way. She and Nicole Kidman could not have contrasted more in the movie (Secrets in Their Eyes, I think) they did together a couple of years ago; the whole time, I just kept noticing how brittle and artificial Nicole looked ( not to mention scarily skinny) as compared to Julia. Plus, I couldn't quite tell if Julia wore a wig in that movie, but Nicole so obviously was.
