I did a search-
At first, I thought that he had just shave his head for a role, when I saw him last night at the Oscars. But he could barely talk when he was introducing "Best Picture" and it looked like Diane had to take over. Sick? Drunk? Cancer? I hope not. He might be kinda a womanizer, but he is a great talent, and I would hate to see him succumb to cancer.
Discuss.

I've had three grandparents die of cancer and my mind went immediately to that when I saw him. He had that look. I hope he isn't ill.

No worries - it is for a role. "The Bucket List", about two terminally ill men who escape a cancer ward - Morgan Freeman is in it as well. Gotta love IMDB.

I spent the whole night wondering the same question too. I almost think they should've put up a disclaimer at the start of the show. Attention: Jack Nicholson does not have cancer.

God, they totally should have done that. I was a bit worried about him. The fact that he was hoarse when he presented really didn't do anything to settle my fears.
Actually, I think they should have done that for just about everyone:
Attention: Gwyneth Paltrow thinks she's better than you.
Attention: Eddie Murphy is going to pout for the rest of the evening if he doesn't win. But come on - Norbit.

He should act his age at these things, as well as removing his "Blues Brothers" sunglasses. He's talented as hell and I respect that, but he's turning into an eccentric goofball.

Aw, I like the eccentric goofball part of him. He sits in the front row every year and has his glasses on but at least he looks like he's having a good time. He laughs hard at all the jokes and has big ol' smile on his face.
I like that it looks like he's happy to be there and he's not all prim and proper and "Oh, the life of a Hollywood star is just so hard!" like almost everyone else. Some of these folks act so constipated that it kills me. You're at the Oscars! Have some fun--think of your gift bag and smile dammit.
So I always look forward to him being a drunk goofball having a grand time. And also, even though he's bald and old, I think he's hot. Maybe not so hot bald but still . . . he's Jack.

I agree with Jensational -- I like the goofball thing. And I love how he always seems to be pleased as punch just to be there. One year one of his buddies (Warren Beatty?) was on stage making a speech and Nicholson was (as usual) in the front row and a couple times he called out jokes to the person on stage. But somehow it didn't come off like "making it all about me" or trying to steal the limelight. He just seemed to be having a helluva time for himself. Plus, the person on stage seemed to be enjoying his "heckling."

The shaved head might be for a role, but there have been rumors of late that he is not well.

Yeah, I like him in the front row laughing up a storm, as well. I did worry though, when he came out with Diane Keaton, and she did all the talking. He's presented big awards many times over the years, and always alone.
