I remember when he won a Daytime Emmy and you could see him mouthing "Fuck! Fuck!" as he walked to the stage to accept the award. For some reason I thought that was so funny at the time. Maybe it was all of the wine I was drinking, but the idea of the Even Stevens boy saying, "Fuck!" over and over again just struck me as funny. Short of him grilling babies and kicking puppies and kittens, or being a deadbeat father, I'll like him. He might be the biggest jackass in the business, but I'd rather watch him than CTC. He's only like 21, so he gets a pass from me for any attitude/arrogance he might have shown in past interviews. Lord knows I would hate to be judged now for my attitude when I was between the ages of 13-22.

Just want to say sorry if anyone was upset by the skit link I posted. I had seen the OC episode it referred to- I should have given more context. I have only ever seen one episode of the OC and that was it- maybe that's why I found it so funny. Plus everything Jensational said.

Hee, who knew this kid would cause controversy? Anyway, I had a look at a few of his recent interviews and yeah, he does come across as a bit overly serious sometimes, not really smug IMHO. I think he's trying to proof that he's all grown up and ready for non-Disney roles. And while doing so he pushes it a bit with all the "I'm very serious about my craft"-talk. I hope he'll outgrow this but apart from that I thought he comes across well. He talks quite openly about his family without being all "oh look at my and my difficult upbringing", more in a matter-of-fact way. ETA: You know, it's weird, right? When young actresses try to get the message across that they're all grown up they have photoshoots for Maxim or something and when young actors want to make sure everyone knows they're adults now, they talk about their "art". It's like how women on red carpets are only allowed to talk about their dresses while the actors talk about their films and how they chose roles or something. I'm not sure what this says about our world or the media.

How do you pronounce his last name? All's I think when I see his name is that it's "beef" in French spelled incorrectly. But, I was born and raised in Montreal and I work as an editor for a living, so... Luckymurre...I'm from TO not MTl, but I took french all through high school, so im like you...whenever i see his name i think of "the beef." I was a French major in college and I think of the same thing. "Shia Beefman", "Shia Bratwurster".

Wait, you mean his name doesn't translate into "The Beef"? Heh. I never could spell very well in French. So what *does* it mean?

On Project Greenlight, Ben, Chris, et. al. pronounced Shia's last name as "Le Buff." I like Shia. On PG, he was a bit of a smart ass, but a funny one. He had me laughing. I take into account his age and the fact that he's a Hollywood actor. I wouldn't label him as smug. I think it's a mixture of cockiness and uncertainty about himself because he's still very young. Oh, and I think he's a cutie too.

I liked The Battle of Shaker Heights a lot. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it tuned out to be good story-telling. I liked it too. Not surprised it didn't turn out a blockbuster, but it was an entertaining story. It marked the last time I liked Amy Smart as an actress, so it's also got sentimental value for me. I used to think I was the only person older than 12 watching Even Stevens. Funny.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, since I'm a 28-year-old married woman with a kid, but I saw Disturbia its opening weekend just because of him. I like the kid and think he's a cutie.
I remember reading an article years ago about how his dad was an abusive drug addict and his mom pretty much let him do whatever he wanted, including smoking weed at a young age. Sounds like he had a tough upbringing.

A lot of Hollywood actors have dirt on them brought out in tabloids years after they get famous. He's talking about it himself, which I like. He freelt admits he lets his dad live in his garage [since he's kind of a loser].
Some may judge that he should put up his dad in a sweet house, but it is a choice. A few people close to me have "problems" and create their own mess and have CHOSEN to live in some pretty fucked up places.
