From Wikipedia:
Move over, Dina Lohan...Shia's dad is the new parent of the year!

I found Shia's mother (on PG) amusing because she was so hippie.
They seemed to have a cute relationship. His father was never featured on PG.

My family name is LaBeouf, pronounced "LeBuff", and my ancestors were beef farmers in France. Anyone know if he has family in Louisiana? Because if so, he's gonna be related to me. Everyone with that name pretty much is. Oh, and count me as someone who will go out of her way to see something only because he's in it. Also, I thought that digital short was hilarious. I've had that Imogen Heap song stuck in my head for weeks now.
That sounded so disjointed, I'm sorry. Monday, monday.....

I really like him. I went to see Holes (because I love Jon Voight) and developed quite an inappropriate crush on Shia. I thought he was pretty good looking and such a natural and easy actor. After coming to terms with the crush (all this time, I thought I was so alone - I didn't realize that he had other older female fans ) and followed his career, but I could not ever enjoy Even Stevens because he just looks so bloody young in that program. As young as he looked/was in Holes, he looked about 10 years younger in Even Stevens and it just freaked me out. I have to admit that I have been pretty entertained by all of the "Shia grew up to be quite attractive!" press that he has been receiving. It made me feel validated. I thought Disturbia was very good (much better than I expected) and I absolutely went to see it because of Shia. I don't know if he has what it takes to be a huge star (who does these days?) but I think he is very much in a position to be an asset to the films he is in.

EW: Someone who's thinking ahead! Maybe he's being a bit pretentious trying to be taken seriously as an actor (he did Disney stuff or something like that as a kid?), but it's still preferable to wanting to be known for partying and assholish behaviour.

I can see how that can come off as smug, but it's so refreshing to see that there still are 20-21 year olds with some sense in the industry. I thought Evan Rachel Wood was one of them, but look what happened to her. Maybe he can be a good example and restore some faith in those young adults.
I'll take overly mature and smug over entitled and stupid any day.

I didn't think it came off as smug, to me it was business-savvy and smart. Go, Shia!

I thought the same thing. It is nice to see someone in Hollywood with some actual talent not completely piss it away.
I find it a little disturbing on my part that I find him so cute, when I probably would have been his babysitter when he was younger.

He does strike me as a bit smug in general and striving too hard to be edgy and cool (I really hated him on the Holes DVD commentary), but at least he's not a tabloid fixture.
