I didn’t see Moonrise Kingdom, but I heard good things about his performance in that movie.
Also, I’m still surprised he didn’t get a Best Actor Oscar nomination for The Sixth Sense (Sean Penn in Sweet and Lowdown could’ve been cut).

Did I read somewhere that he started out in the business as a stuntman? It makes sense there might be some long term brain degeneration from that.

He used to be a bartender - is that maybe what you are thinking of? He was a bartender in NYC while acting off-Broadway, and that helped the tough guy image a bit.

I assume most action stars have injured themselves, even if they have stunt doubles. I am pretty sure Willis because partially deaf after Die Hard due to gunshots without ear protection. It’s very plausible to me that he endured injuries in his career that contributed to the diagnosis, though it could also be just a tragic coincidence.

Remember at the beginning of the pandemic shutdown, people online were really confused as to why Bruce was staying with Demi and their kids instead of in LA with wife and their kids? It suddenly makes sense. Given that people are saying his issues may have started back in 2016, maybe he wasn’t able to get the care and attention he needed (weren’t his wife and kids quarantined?) so having him stay with them may have been so they could look after him. I was one of those people. And this now makes tons of sense. I feel so bad for his family, just the fact that a guy who seems like he's a very fun and social guy with them now will have that slowly taken away. It's like Alzheimer's only worse (if that's even possible). I wish we could cure these awful diseases!

I've never been a fan of Bruce Willis's but this is sad. That Variety article linked a couple pages back is scary, though. He was firing a gun at the wrong time, possibly endangering others. It makes you wonder how the Alec Baldwin-Halyna Hutchins situation doesn't happen much more frequently. (Also, I think the stuntman they were referring to was the director. I think it was saying he had previously been a stuntman, not Bruce.)
Re: the Razzies - I mean, if a crappy movie with a crappy performance is released, it is honestly fair game to publicly be called crap. It's the studio's responsibility to not put out garbage. Not that there are ever a dearth of sh*tty performances to choose from that could take its place.

Bruce Willis's family announces his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. It's good they have an official diagnosis now, but so sad.
