Jezebel also listed Alan Alda. LOL! I've got a little bit of a thing for Alan Alda so I was pleased to see that. I had a crush on Alan Alda when I was 14 years old.

If there had been an internet when it was JFK, Jr. for example, it would've been, his hair is too puffy, that himbo, he's no Jack Kennedy, either, etc. There's no famous guy they could name now who wouldn't get an "ugh, him" reaction from one corner of the internet or another. That's probably true, but at least JFK, Jr. was chosen only because people actually found him sexy and wanted to read about him. It had nothing to do with publicists brokering a deal to win the title. Not only was the issue one of People's most popular issues ever, but women hung on to the issue and didn't throw it away - in the pre-internet era they couldn't access those precious shirtless photos online! People also needs to go back to the days when they didn't require the person they chose to participate in the article. If they the editors think Leo (or Bradley Cooper) or whoever is the sexiest man, then that's who it should be and they should go ahead and do the article. All these A-listers keep "turning it down" because of course they don't want to be seen as participating in the cheesiness.

Yeah, but I think that's the point. In the internet era we can read anything about anyone, and find all the pictures we want. The magazine has to find SOME angle to the story besides "Here's Clooney again. Still hot, but here's some shit from him you've read a million times before". So they're going with people who will actually speak to them and offer a few new words.
I was just thinking about the cable/internet age while watching all this JFK anniversary stuff. Pictures of him sunning himself on a yacht - that would go over real well now (not to mention the women who would probably not have kept quiet). For every 20 agreeing with the sexy man pick, there are a zillion others who will never agree with ANYTHING. I can't ever read comments on anything anymore because people are so mean and negative. I guess we were all just sitting around yelling at friends and families back in the day, huh (she says as someone who has been bitchy about people plenty of times)?

Ha! This person from Tablet hates Adam Levine, too: I love it when people don't hold back. I think he's stringy and gross looking. The bag boy at the supermarket tonight had more going on than AdLev.

I propose a game "Who's less sexy than Adam Levine"?
I'll start; Rush Limbaugh Bill O'Reilly Jabba the Hut

Eh, I think he's sexy but he's way too self-aware about it. If Gwyneth Paltrow can be world's most beautiful woman, why shouldn't Adam be the sexiest man? Things are clearly off in media-construct land.

I have never understand Adam Levine's appeal. To me, he is utterly devoid of charm or charisma. He's a rat-faced douche.
