Agreed. I think they've gone as far as they can go with the series, and it's time to let it end. Sex and the City...In Space! Sex and the City, Was It All A Dream? Sex and the City...the Prequel! Sex and the City, They're All Ghosts! Animated Sex and the City, possibly with talking raccoons. This can go on forever! If Carrie were to shriek like she did when she saw a squirrel (of all things), then no to the raccoons! If they wanted to resurrect the series, they should do a one-off special on HBO (or Netflix, since it’s in). It shotbe mi more than an hour. What else could they do with Carrie and Big? They broke up and made up so many times (and had an affair while he was married to someone else). Carrie got him in the end. That’s why I got annoyed when she started to act like she was bored in the second movie.

I mean, it WAS totally reasonable for Carrie to be bored. Big asked her to stay in one night (one whole night guys!!!), instead of going out for dinner. Then he got them a large television and voiced his desire to sit and snuggle with her. What an a$$hole! : /
That this was the crux of their crisis (oh yeah- and to pay for it Big got Carrie a HUGE diamond ring in the end, and all was forgiven)... yeah- in my eyes SJP will never be able to redeem that crap fest.

What really got me was the character assassination of their two Gay characters marrying each other. I'm sure there were more, but the only episode that I know of that had both characters was the Fashion Roadkill episode, and it was Yuck At First Sight.
Now, suddenly, they're lavishly marrying with Liza Minnelli knockoffs. It was, I suppose, a shout out to the show's loyal Gay audience before we could legally get married, but it came off completely wrong with the universe of the show.
Personally, I think Kim Cattrell should get a big round of applause for consistently going the extra mile with the sexual gymnastics of her character. Only maybe Sharon Stone has shown what is probably really like in bed with herself. She's a comic gem on SATC.

Yeah, I think in the first movie it was a two second scene of them both being lonely at a party and noticing one another. Cut to engaged and married. I know it’s not about their characters, but it would have been nice a little bit of the in between. I’m really trying to rack my brain to think of a legitimate story line for even just Carrie that I would find entertaining that makes sense for her character.

SPJ's schtick is that, schtick. She's a shrewd business woman (and there's nothing wrong with that) but she tries to hide it behind this "who me, aw shucks" gal persona and at her age it's ridiculous.
1. Kim Cattrall does not owe it to anyone to do a third Sex movie. Negotiations, are just that: negotiations. She didn't sign a contract. She was negotiating, in the end she decided the money, the writing, whatever wasn't right and it was no longer worth her time to do a third Sex in the City movie -- and she's allowed to do that without than having a smear campaign against her.
2. Kim and SPJ's issues are not a new thing. They are well documented. For example, there's the time they filmed in Atlantic City and SPJ made accommodations for herself, Cynthia Nixon, and Kirsten Davis and KC was left to fend for herself. There are numerous reports of "mean girl" behavior from SPJ toward KC. For years people have known that some of KC's most ridiculous storylines could be traced back to SPJ (she was Executive Producer) and had input.
3. When someone's brother dies, and you know you don't have a good relationship with them, it's probably not a good idea to post some flowery over the top condolence message on social media. A private condolence would be fine and SPJ could have clearly done that if she wanted to.
4. Was KC's reaction a bit over the top? Maybe. But she was dealing with the anniversary of her father's death and the recent disappearance of her brother -- who sadly was found dead. I'll cut her some slack on this one.
It sounds like KC has probably made it clear privately that she has no desire to have any type of relationship with SPJ and SPJ should respect that and get over self. Move on. If she really wants a damn SATC movie do without Cattrall and you can do that without going on a media team complaining about how everything is KC's fault.

I cannot stress how tedious a third movie would be.
I like all of the actresses, but...why would Cynthia and Kristin go along with such pettiness? That's awful. I got mean-girled last year by a woman in her late 40s...and I work at a school. I can't stand that stuff.

Kim responded nicely to Cynthia's message on Instagram, so who knows? She didn't act like she was mad at her or Kristin.

As already mentioned, they just can’t go to the Carrie and Big well anymore. Dull, dull, dull. But they could make a very interesting movie about friendship and death. Just kill off Samantha. How things change and adapt. Hell, kill off one of the husbands. The best part of that show was their friendship. How does that dynamic change when you lose one? Lots there for a really good movie.

Kim responded nicely to Cynthia's message on Instagram, so who knows? She didn't act like she was mad at her or Kristin. That's why the SJP-Mean Girls theory doesn't quite work for me. Did SJP turn the other actresses against Kim and force them to ostracize her and be mean to her or not? It always appeared that none of the SATC actresses were friends outside of work. SJP and Kim actively didn't get along, but periodically made nice with each other for the sake of the show. Cynthia Nixon seemed to be the peacemaker who smoothed things over a little bit and Kristen seemed to stay out of it completely and just showed up for work and was happy to have a job. I still think that's the case. I don't buy tabloid stuff that makes either Kim or SJP out to be an evil harpy victimizing the other. Their beefs with each other through the years are well known, and neither of them is blameless.
