I liked "The Wish". I also loved it when Evil Willow came and messed with them all later.
I will always love seasons 2-4 for one reason (well many) but one main reason...Oz.

In retrospect especially, my favorite part of "The Wish" was when Willow was upset because VampWillow was so skanky and seemed "kinda gay," and Angel interrupts Buffy as she tries to reassure Willow that vamps are nothing like the human they used to be. The look of death Buffy gives him is priceless and shuts him right up.

I love when Willow and Buffy get in the car and Snyder's tagging along and he says "You drive like a spaz, Summers." I don't know why that line cracks me up but it does. And then the later pay-off in "Who Are You" when Buffy's trying to convince Giles she's really Buffy even though she looks like Faith and she says:
Buffy-in-Faith: And you have a girlfriend named Olivia, and you haven't had a job since we blew up the school, which is valid, lifestyle-wise. I mean, it's not like you're a slacker-type, but... Oh, oh! When I had psychic power, I heard my mom think that you were like a stevedore during sex. Do you want me to continue? Giles: Actually, I beg you to stop. Buffy-in-Faith: What's a stevedore?
The look of pain on Giles' face and the look of confusion on Buffy/Faith's face is just hysterical.

I am cracking up just remembering that! Both Smidge and Eliza were terrific in those two eps.

Restless is by far my favorite episode of Buffy. Another unpopular opinion, season 4 is my favorite season. The overall story arc was lame but it had the best set of standalone episodes: Restless Fear, Itself Pangs Something Blue Hush Living Conditions (who didn't think their freshman roommate was evil) I always hated The Wish because it was Cordelia's wish and she ends up getting killed in the beginning of the episode and it becomes all about Willow. So annoying. Oh! Oh! Season 4 is my fave too! So many awesome episodes, even though overall the arc didn't *quite* work as well as in earlier seasons, IMO. Fear, Itself is one of my all time faves. I re-watch it every time I feel powerless and afraid of some work thing or whatever, and it makes me Buffy-up and squish the cute liddle fear monster. Restless is a big fave of mine too, and the Wish-universe episodes.

So I just started Season 4 and I wanted to know is Angel worth investing the time? Angel is also available on Netflix Instant Watch so I watched the first episode only because I wanted to find out what happened to Cordy (the Season 4 1st Buffy ep did not mention her at all.) I can take or leave the character of Angel-the brooding thing does not appeal to me-but I do miss Cordelia's comedic shallowness. So far in Season 4, I don't miss Angel at all, but something seems missing without Cordy.

I loved Angel so I would recommend it. Actually, there were times I loved Angel more than I loved Buffy. Like Buffy, there are ups and downs to the show but overall, I think it's definitely work watching. If only to get to the episode where Angel is turned into a puppet.

He still broods but there are also a lot of light moments and Boreanaz has such great comedic timing and finally gets to put it to use in Angel as opposed to Buffy. Cordy still has the great lines but their is also a terrific evolution of her character from the Sunnydale snot to a wonderful young woman with a huge heart and all without being cliche or cheesy imo. Slight spoiler but she is not on the whole series but her very last episode in the last season is one of the best in television. And one that can make me sob for days lol. I would recommend Angel and I bet you end up liking it.

Personally, the only one I really liked on Angel was Wesly when they made him a very dark character. When Boreanaz moved to Angel, he lost his broodiness. The writing was not as good as on Buffy either. Always hated charisma carpenter on Angel, her best years were on Buffy.
