I'd be embarassed to tell that story, but nope... in the world of "any kind of publicity is good", we get this. And people still won't watch that show.

[whispers]I think he's more talented than his wife.[/whispers]
I saw him on Friends and he was actually pretty funny with some decent comic timing. His wife, however, hasn't shown any promise whatsoever. I'll never understand why he gets the bad rep. And he seems a lot nicer than her too.

I agree that he was pretty damn funny in Friends. I laughed my ass off at his sensitive "manny" scenes, and this was at a time when I was getting well and truly sick to death of Friends.
It's a bit of a shame that he's married to another well-known actor - I guess they're always going to be compared to each other in terms of success, etc. (She hasn't massively impressed me outside of Buffy, and actually she didn't impress me the last two seasons of Buffy either! But maybe she'll blow everyone away in Southland Tales. Maybe.......Stranger things have happened! From the on-set candids I've seen, girlfriend is beginning to look a lot older than her years too, which is unfortunate.)
But Freddy does seem to be getting a good bit of work in the last year or two - he went to the West End and then there was Boston Legal or whatever the hell it was (never watched it). And now his own show. Even if it's not picked up - he's doing OK, really. Working a lot.
And I certainly don't think he's getting any of it because of SMG, so maybe he has some talent hidden underneath that rather dull exterior??
Maybe......

I'd kinda forgotten about him and that he's married to SMG.
I ended up watching his show by accident last night - it was on right before Lost. At first I didn't realize it was him.
I must say though it was pretty stupid.

I loved him on Friends too! When he played the recorder to Emma, I was cracking up!
I don't know why everyone hates him. He's just so cute! Especially with glasses on. I believe that his dad's suicide really affected him, and I hope that he's happy now. The pictures of him and his mom when his dad was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame were so sad. They were both visibly crying pretty hard.

I always had something against him that I couldn't exactly put my finger on... I think it was just that I was getting sick of all these very young "it" people, who I couldn't keep straight, getting shoved at me. Plus, I kept getting him mixed up with Ashton Kushter who I genuinely can't stand because he's an idiotic, one-trick-pony, so desperate for attention that he'll marry Bruce Willis's sloppy seconds -- Oh, wait a minute... This is the Freddie Prinze Jr. thread...
Anyhow, FPJ has grown on me. He was hilarious in Friends. Plus, in The House of Yes I thought he was very good.
I think I'll have to put him in my personal category of people like Drew Barrymore and others who I started out hating and ended up liking. I think of it as a "failure of hatred." It's a damn shame, but it happens.

I feel so sorry for him. I don't know where the pity comes from. But it's there.
I had to sit through Scooby Doo twice yesterday when my daughter was sick and GOD, he is so freakin effeminate (and not just when he had Daphne's "soul" inside his body...I don't have to spoiler that, do I?). I agree that he's a better actor than SMG.

I like FPJ I don't think he's particularly talented, though he surprised me in the House of Yes and Friends. But he's so cute and every interview I've seen of him he comes across as such a nice albeit goofy kind of guy. And the truth is I have a lot of residual love for his dad. I had the biggest crush on his dad and I remember when his dad killed himself I was about ten and I cryed for weeks about it. So I've always felt sorry for him- I hope he succeeds.

Hmmmm. I had him pegged as more of an emo type, but whatever floats his boat.
