Daily Fail is reporting that Rosie has been dating Tatum O'Neal for two months. Questionable source, but maybe Chelsea is better off away for a while.

I did hear that Tatum has been dating (or has been open to dating) women recently.

I think Chelsea is hurt and angry and has been given a public opportunity (and probably money) to air her grievances (happy Festivus!) but a good portion of this is probably true and does not put Rosie in a good light. I'm glad Chelsea has a good relationship with Kelli.

As the adoptive mother of emotionally/mentally ill adult children, I'm going to take this with a grain of salt. Rosie & Kellie shared custody, so Kellie must have seen enough issues when Chelsea lived with her to agree to have her go to a therapeutic boarding school. While I'm sure there is some truth in there, my kids are very prone to take things that happened once or twice and build them up into "this is how our life was".

Yeah, I don't think Rosie is a great mom, but considering the article, Chelsea doesn't come off all that well- not to mention her horrid taste in men.

And while I do not doubt that Rosie O'Donnell's personal life isn't all peaches and cream and her dating life in particular seems volatile, the worst Chelsea accuses her of is "not cooking" and "sleeping late" and "smoking pot." She sounds like a typical teenager with "mom's not good enough" complaints, but once you factor in that she was in a therapeutic boarding school, and both her birthmother and boyfriend seem predatory as whoa... I don't think it's a good situation but it clearly doesn't seem to be all Rosie's doing.

I'm glad Chelsea has a good relationship with Kelli. I can buy the stuff about Rosie just smoking weed and decoupaging all day long (and I really believe that she was afraid that The View would give her another heart attack). But Chelsea is an 18 year old kid who is mad at her mom and talking about what a swell guy her boyfriend is despite his drug charges. All that I take with a grain of salt.

Even with the child basically bad mouthing her mom at every turn- it still doesn't sound like she had it all that bad. Rosie's always come off as kind of self-absorbed and prone to sudden ragey moods... But it doesn't sound like she ever took it out on the kids beyond being somewhat distant and having the final say in all matters of daily activities. It would be one thing if she holed herself up in her arts and crafts house (and she has a whole house just for arts and crafts, y'all! *jealous!*) and ignored the kids as they went hungry or needed attention. But the kids were welcome to come and play and always had someone to take care of them.
In other words, if this kid tries to write some scathing tell-all, I don't think she's going to get a 'Mommy Dearest' out of it.
I think she's just exploring her options as a (VERY) new adult and more focused on the bad times than the good.

I take all of this with a ton of salt. In the 90's people were cool with Rosie, that changed IMO when she interviewed Tom Selleck in 1999. He was on the show to talk about some forgettable dumb ass movie he was in, but Columbine had just happened and Rosie felt it was important to ask him about that, since he had done a commercial for the NRA. Some people thought Rosie ambushed Tom (I saw the interview, it wasn't like Rosie kicked him in the balls or something), and I think a lot of politicians and the press have had it out for her ever since.
