Oh, I love WAY! One of his county fair performances was my first concert (a bit embarrassed because I was an adult with two kids for this event, oh well).
Probably not the brightest thing to do, but I can't help singing "Like a Surgeon..." whenever they're prepping me for surgery. It puts me at ease-- though, given the results of my last few surgeries, maybe my surgeons could do out with my little rendition just before operating, hehehe.

Remember when Coolio threw a hissy fit after "Amish Paradise"? What a baby. Where the hell is he now?? Yeah, but in Al's Behind the Music, Al's manager joked that Coolio didn't waste any time cashing the royalty checks. I remember Gangsta's Paradise, but I'd rather listen to Amish Paradise. The video is better, too. Florence Henderson!!!

My first concert was a Weird Al concert right around the time "Amish Paradise" was coming out. It was at the county fair, and my best friend and I had to wait in line almost all day to even get in to the first show. And it's still right up there as one of the best shows I've ever seen.

He is a good looking guy, which doesn't hurt. I am SO glad to note that I'm not the only one who thinks Al is a cutie-booty.

There was a song of his (an original) called "You Don't Love Me Anymore". It might be from the "Even Worse" album. (And I love that title!) The song was about a guy slllloooooowwllly coming to realize that his betrothed might not be so much into him.
Still the funniest song I've ever heard.

I bought the DVD of Weird Al's videos; my 11 and 12 year old sons love it, and they don't even know the originals.
(My 14 year old daughter had to tell me that White and Nerdy originated as Ridin' Dirty)

Aw, Weird Al. Seems like such a nice guy. I like that his parodies are more about making fun of the human condition and our wackiness rather than making fun of the celebrity who sings whatever song he's writing about.
His parents seemed really sweet too on Behind the Music. I remember hearing about the carbon monoxide thing awhile back. So sad!

Squee! I love those songs! I play Christmas at Ground Zero every Christmas, and it's on my iPod holiday playlist! And You Don't Love Me Anymore is one of my 'breakup' songs whenever I've decided boys are smelly. It cracks me right up.
I love "White and Nerdy". Especially since I think "Ridin" is so stupid. "White and Nerdy" makes more sense than the original song. He's a genius!

I can't wait to play "Eat It" when my kids get picky about food. Mwahahahahaha.... Also, he puts on a great show. I saw him at a county fair a few years back, and he played for at least 2 hours. Given how much he runs around the stage, I can see how he stays so skinny!

I love Weird Al. I remember in high school, Al was just a college kid that used to send tapes to Dr. Demento to play, and my friends would play stuff we recorded off the radio and bust a gut laughing... Who knew almost 3 decades later, he would still be going strong? Who knew you could make money from parody?
*************************************************8 Being a graduate of Lynwood High in 87' I truly get Weird Al. We listened to his music when he first came on the seen. He is still going strong!!!
