IMO, both he and Ben are boring, possess medicore talent and rate about a five out of ten on the attractiveness scale. They're both so blah that I do not get the rivalry that flares up over which of them the equally blah Jennifer Garner is sleeping with. Is it just the Alias fans that get worked up over this, or what?

And Michael Vartan has never tried to "claim" fame. If he had been, he would have been out pimping himself to the media especially when he and Garner were dating. He's a shy guy who enjoys what he's doing on Alias and has always been very candid in saying so.

Well, gag me twice with two spoons. Never said MV was perfect and just because he attends a Maloof BD party doesn't make him a famewhore. And a crappy actor he's not. And, BTW, Paris Hilton attends every party in HW and LV, so it's rather difficult to attend a party, any party, without her being in attendance.

My opinion? He's cute, but kind of boring. I just recently rewatched "Never Been Kissed" and was surprised to see him there with a pretty large supporting role. He's an okay actor, just doesn't register much. He seems very unmemorable. That said, however, he is 100 times preferable to Ben Affleck--the two are not even in the same category.

Well, if they replace him with Scott Speedman (supposedly being considered, though I have no idea who the "Ben" was that Kristen alluded to in her chat), I certainly won't miss him. In fact, Alias will once again become must-watch TV for me. (Instead of must-Tivo TV.)

If he is leaving, I do wonder why. I mean, we're all old enough that I find it hard to believe that it's for personal reasons, but then why ditch a solid, sure paycheck? Maybe he has something jucier lined up.

If he really is leaving, just a guess since I know zip about the situation, maybe a pregnant Jen doesn't want stress of any sort. Or, the situation was more than he wanted to put up with.
