Yes, he does know how to avoid the razzi and makes a point of doing so. Affleck needs to take some lessons from him. But then again, the razzi are Affleck's best buds.

Damned straight he's a better man than Ben Affleck who is a loud, vile-mouthed famewhore and pimps himself to the razzi with his Bentley's, cycles, the Range Rover he bought for his girlfriend and other extravagant items he chooses to pimp.

And Michael Vartan has never tried to "claim" fame. If he had been, he would have been out pimping himself to the media especially when he and Garner were dating. He's a shy guy who enjoys what he's doing on Alias and has always been very candid in saying so.
