I was waiting for the Defamer post, seeing as they (well a reader came up with it) started the whole 'butterscotch stallion' thing. Which is still my fave celeb nickname ever.

I'm kind of cringing when I think of the media coverage this is getting/will continue to get. Typically, I think that when you court fame, you have to deal with a certain amount of attention from the press. But I think in cases like this, the media should leave people alone.

However, I am a hypocrite, because I will still read/watch the coverage.

I could listen to him talk all day.

I know exactly what you mean. Butterscotch/Kate Hudson notwithstanding, Owen seems to have stayed relatively under the radar, given his level of fame. A lot of times I don't have sympathy for celebrity demons, but... well, Bottle Rocket is still one of the most quoted movies between my sister and me, so I've got a big soft spot for everybody involved in that movie.

Hope he's OK.

If the suicide attempt is true... how fucked up must it be if you're Luke Wilson, having acted out that scene, and now your older brother tries it for real. That would do a number on anybody. What a horribly sad situation for everyone involved

I'm actually really surprised by this news. He seemed he'd be such an affable stoner-type in real life as well as the movies. Poor guy.
