I don't like Kate Hudson at all, but for the media to sight her as a reason for his issues is so wrong. I hope the guy gets better soon. Depression is a monster.

I just wonder if it was straw that broke the camels back. Maybe he had been going through depression for a while. I hope he's okay and I feel bad I didn't know their relationship was so serious.

Wow, I hope he's okay and he gets some treatment.
I don't agree with blaming Kate either. The man was severely depressed, which is no one's fault except maybe Mother Nature, who gave him a messed up brain.

I agree, even if he really was in a "funk" about her, there clearly seem to be so many other issues going on that they should just leave her out of it. |

Slightly O/T but I was really curious about that whole 'Rance' saga - whoever it was was clearly a smart, interesting person and Owen Wilson is actually a good guess (and one I never thought of). I really don't feel one way or another about this guy professionally but I hope he gets it together. Someone else mentioned upthread that comedians are often really dark, intense characters off-set and this is very true. The weirdest, most perfectionist and borderline-mentally-ill people I've known have been fairly well known comedians.  |

You are so right, InnocentOne. And if he's been holed up all summer...he's in bad shape. I, too, am curious to know if the brother showed up on a whim or if Owen called him.. I sincerely hope the latter. Owen, You are great. Peace. |

Extra is claiming that he did indeed attempt suicide and that his break-up with Kate had nothing to do with it.
“Extra” has learned from a source close to Owen Wilson that the actor did indeed attempt suicide over the weekend. The source revealed to “Extra” that Wilson has been depressed for the last few months, but insisted it is not over a broken relationship.
The source also told “Extra” that Wilson’s brother, Luke, found him and that Wilson’s family and friends are shocked. "
