Don't they already have the embryos frozen from when she had her son? I haven't got any experience of IVF myself but I'd imagine that if you had some frozen embryos you'd probably try for a pregnancy using those before exploring other options. They may have frozen some embryos and they may well have failed to implant. They have to be pretty good quality to withstand the freezing and thawing. It's not as successful as using fresh embryos. It does seem weird that Celine and Rene waited so long to try to have a baby again. I wonder if they have been trying for years. If so, she probably has some other cause of infertility besides her age. I also was suspecting that her belief that she was pregnant was because she had a chemical pregnancy. Your body acts pregnant and you get a positive test, just not really pregnant. I don't know much about it but I have read that it can happen. Thank you, guys.

Yes, it can happen. It happened to me, in 1973. No frozen embryos (that hadn't been invented then, I think) but I desperately wanted a baby.
As for Florida accents, here in the Panhandle, we're Bubbas. How much so? The area went overwhelmingly for McCain/Palin.

Why does she live in Florida? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I guess if I were a celebrity I'd pick New York City or do what Shania Twain did and move to Switzerland. Or maybe I'd go all Gwyneth and try to move into a huge castle in England.
I thought maybe she had multiple homes and that one of her residences was in Quebec. If she doesn't live in Quebec, I figure it's probably because she wouldn't want to be hassled.
When I think about it, it's not that odd that Canadian celebrities would choose to move elsewhere because of the anonymity that they might find in another country (i.e Shania Twain moving to Switzerland though that seems to have been more her husband's decision than her own).

I read somewhere a long time ago that she's very particular about climate--Florida's warm, humid weather is better for her throat and voice than cool or dry weather. There were stories about the giant humidifiers she had installed in her Vegas home and in the theater where she performed every night.

If they would live in Canada they would get taxed up the wazoo. It is the same with Swedish celebs as well. The tennis players and golfers live in Monaco, Florida or Dubai, not Sweden.

Wouldn't she have to pay taxes in both countries, or does it not matter if you were born in the country that you're trying to avoid paying taxes in? I thought you had to pay taxes in all of the countries where you hold citizenship and residency (although maybe in her case it doesn't matter since she probably doesn't care about collecting a pension). I know tennis players try to evade taxes, but I thought if you had some form of residency in both Canada and the U.S. you paid in both countries (or at least that was the impression I had from the regular people I know who were born in neither the U.S. nor Canada but have some form of residency, whether it be citizenship or permanent residency, in both countries).

I've heard that there are a lot of Canadians (particularly retirees) who have winter homes in Florida. It's no different than the many seniors in the U.S. who prefer to spend part of the year in a warm climate. Since Celine's son is school age, the family may find it more practical to life in Florida most of the time, rather than spending a few months in one country and a few in another.

That's for sure - they're called snowbirds. Often, they'll have a trailer park home in Florida (Nov-April) and another in Canada (April-Nov). Two small inexpensive homes instead of one big pricey one.
Celine's situation is unique because her husband is a senior but she has a school-aged child, so yeah, it makes sense to live in one place most of the time.

My parents are thinking of buying in Florida in the Orlando area which I am totally encouraging.

Being from Montreal myself, I have a great understanding why Celine would move to Florida. Montreal has one of the coldest winters in Canada and for a lot of Montrealers and Canadians, Florida symbolizes the ultimate in great weather. I am sure she was dreaming of Florida as a child growing up in Montreal during the brutal winters there.
