I am late to the Titanic discussion, but I've never seen it either. I remember that it was such a HUGE thing when it came out that I got irked at the cultural saturation and determined not to see it. Now enough time has passed that I might be willing to see it, but I don't feel like sitting through a 3 hour movies.
As for Celine, I've never been a fan but I have goodwill for her that's really built in recent years. I love Kathy Griffin stories about meeting her because Celine does come off like she has a good sense of humor along with tremendous graciousness.

Hey, you're welcome. It's really cool though, because it takes A LOT OF THE MOVIE to sink. It just doesn't go "sploosh" and it's gone. Nope, its dramatic. (I've actually seen it a lot; it's a good go-to brainless long movie watch.)

I got Titanic on vhs way back in the day. It was two tapes because it was so long. It's two DVD's as well. I watched it with my family. It was getting late and my Dad said, "It's ok, there's only a half hour left". Oh no, Dad. Check out this second DVD.

I have a particular soft spot for "Because You Loved Me" after hearing that Diane Warren wrote it for her father, whom she said was the only person who believed in her when she was an aspiring songwriter.
Apparently everyone else, even Diane's mom, told her it was never gonna happen and that she should become a secretary instead, but her dad drove her to various record labels as she was trying to get a foot in the door and always encouraged her to have faith that it would happen.

I have also never seen Titanic (and have no desire to), and Leo has never done it for me either.
Celine's music has never appealed to me, but she seems delightful. I have never seen anyone have anything bad to say about her. I remember yeeears ago when Ana Gasteyer played her on SNL. I remember seeing interviews with Ana and others that were on SNL at the time, and they had nothing but nice things to say about Celine and how gracious she is and was always willing to make fun of herself. She seems like a pretty cool person.
