I was shocked when I read that she's only 41. Here I was thinking she's in her 50's. She's shaving a few years off, right?

So sad to hear that. She seems like such a nice woman. Such a pity. Maybe she could hire a surrogate if she has such difficulties carrying to term.

Isn't it unusual for in vitro pregnancies to miscarry?

She must be heartbroken.

I am so sorry for Celine, like others have posted, she just comes across genuinely nice. I have never heard her pulling any diva antics (and lord knows after "My Heart WIll Go On" she could have become an ego maniac. Can you imagine if JLO had a hit that big?) Anyway, my heart goes to her.

Her husband says Celine is determined to have another child. He's saying they thought she had become pregnant but they found out later she really wasn't. So, perhaps she simply had false positive when she took a pregnancy test. Even if that's what happened it must still be heartbreaking. I'm sure thinking you are pregnant and then later finding out you are not has got to be just as tough as losing a pregnancy.

Poor Celine. And Rene. Like you all have said she seems like such a sweet lady and my heart just breaks for her. Wanting a baby so badly and then losing it is just another version of hell imo. Gosh. I am tearing up as well.

At the risk of sounding mean, I am not surprised. Let's look at the facts here. You have a woman who had problems getting pregnant, postponed it, the father is a geriatric, has her first child through in vitro at age 32 and has to take bed rest to maintain the pregnancy. She is now 41 and the odds are not stacked in her favour. The eggs start going downhill on average at age 27 and sperm at age 35.
I am one of those jaded Canadians, who has no time for this woman. She is one of those Canadian celebs, who gets a cultural lobotomy once she goes south of the border. She will give time to entertain American troops, but does dick all for Canadians. I hope she won't be in Vancouver come 2010.
Okay, let the tomato throwing commence, I can take it... I think.
