I guess I just don't understand why she wants another child so bad....she already has one and Rene already has a few. I don't know, maybe she is just like the millions of other people in the world who choose to have multiple children. My husband and I are expecting #2. We just wanted another to have another child, simple as that. I haven't liked reading the judgement directed at Celine for her reproductive choices. "She's having a baby at 41!?" "Why have fertility treatments? She should adopt!" "Why is she doing IVF?" Who gives a shit? Unless a person is doing something flat out crazy that will end up damaging to the resulting children (i.e. Octomom) then what is the problem with how someone chooses to create their family? These are very personal choices. I know a few people facing these challenges, and they are dealing with it in different ways that feel right for them. [/rant] softtissue I hope things work out for you. Aside from the multiple babies and money; I'm not really not seeing the big difference between Octomom and Celine. And I don't see anyone defending Octomom by stating that they are her own personal choices. And while Celine might want multiple children, clearly age and her reproductive organs are not in agreement.

I think when someone pushes their body to do something that is unnatural - and if she's had multiple miscarriages, and is still trying to get pregnant despite now being at an age that doctors generally agree is a very challenging one for pregnancy, that is unnatural - than it's fair to question their judgment.
Modern pregnancy is still not without risk, as two women I know recently found out. So to repeatedly attempt to create a situation in which both you and your child are potentially at risk - not to mention the reams of taxpayer-paid medical bills that can be created by dangerous medical situations (b/c it's a public health care system up there, right?), I think again, it's fair to question her judgement.
I don't personally think her wanting another kid is a bad thing, but I do - I think fairly, based on the information available - question her methods.

Why did she wait so long for another child? She always said she wanted another child but she didn't seem to be trying to conceive. She would have announced she was trying like the first time.

Wasn't she under some long-term contract in Vegas? Maybe that's why she waited so long.

Another poster mentioned that she was 32 when she had her first child.
I don't think her contract with Vegas could have been 9 years.
Anyway, if she wanted children this badly, I am kind of surprised she'd wait till 41. I realize other things can get in the way, but she already had a partner, a lot of money, and tons of professional success. Usually people who don't have kids till their 40s don't have these things in their favour which is why they end up having the kids late in the first place. But those particular obstacles weren't an issue for her.

Why sign the long term Vegas contract? She wasn't hard up for cash. If she wanted another child she shouldn't have waited around so long.

I agree. However, they were in Vegas long enough to establish a residence there and they got the little boy adjusted to her schedule so she could spend time with him.

Why sign the long term Vegas contract? She wasn't hard up for cash. If she wanted another child she shouldn't have waited around so long. IIRC, she wanted to be able to work regularly and stay in one place while her son was little. Vegas fit that bill perfectly. So many women do choose to focus on career earlier in life and waiting until they're professionally established before having a family. For those who find that their bodies won't cooperate with that timeline, it must be heartbreaking--but when you have already had one difficult, high-risk pregnancy and then try years later to do it again, I think there's some major denial going on as well. Her mom must have still been having kids into her 40s, and I bet her siblings have lots of kids, too--it must be very hard to accept that her son may be her only child.

She can do what Sarah Jessica Parker did and get a surrogate. The baby can still be genetically hers and Rene's; she doesn't have to actually deal with the stress of carrying it.
