it seems like Angelina would be more than happy if he were out of the picture forever. This. I think she will keep litigating this until she can get sole custody and never have to deal with him again. I hate that the kids are in the middle. If Maddox and Pax have decided not to have a relationship with him, they're adults (or nearly adults) and can do what they like. But there's still a chance Brad and his younger kids can at least try to repair what is broken. I have a personal bias about this because I experienced it, but I don't doubt that Angie strongly, purposefully influences her kids' opinions about their father and having a relationship with him. If Brad has passed all his evaluations with CPS and the courts are satisfied he's "done the work" (which we don't fully know about) then he should get a chance to be in his kids' lives without adverse influence from Angelina. And I'm out of this discussion. It's obviously hitting too close to home and dredging up my personal baggage. #teamkids

I don't know what kind. They've been pictured together at Brad's Santa Barbara home. Maybe, that's good, maybe, no so much.

It seems odd that Brad would not be involved in the kids' lives, since having children was one of the big rumors about his divorce from.... wait, I am allowed to say the other name in this thread, or will I get banned?

Angelina is a beautiful woman. I can see why Brad was attracted to her, even while he was married. He probably thought Angelina was exactly what he was missing from his life. He seemed very involved with their kids while they were still together. I'm guessing he always wanted kids, but who knows? He's a single man again. He went right from his marriage to Jennifer to a longterm relationship with Angelina without giving himself any sort of breathing room. By that time, Angelina had already adopted two (three?) kids. I would imagine walking into a relationship with someone who already has a couple of children seems like no big deal, until it is. He might have thought he could handle her lifestyle. For what it's worth, I don't blame Angelina for his choosing to be with her. Or for her wanting to adopted a handful of kids. I think that's cool.

I have like Angelina since Gia, so take this with a grain of salt. What I do not understand, is internet people that say Angelina is wild, unstable, and/or crazy for things that she did in her early 20s, over twenty years ago, and while childless. Science has said that the brain doesn't really mature until around 25. I'm not big on the gossip sites/magazines, but I have seen nothing like that since she adopted Maddox. On the other hand, Brad did something so bad that a person outside of the family reported him to CPS, his wife left him, and some kids don't speak to him and want to remove his last name, and at that time he was a 50-something father of six, but hardly anyone states that he is wild, unstable, or crazy.

A lot of people want kids but not necessarily 6 little kids all at once. I think Brad may have handled the stresses of that poorly. Supposedly Brad and Angelina almost broke up because she wanted to adopt child #4 (Pax), a high-needs child, when they still had two toddlers. Brad thought they needed to slow down. Angelina has subsequently told Pax Brad never wanted him, which has not helped that father-son relationship. is internet people that say Angelina is wild, unstable, and/or crazy for things that she did in her early 20s, over twenty years ago, and while childless. Science has said that the brain doesn't really mature until around 25. Yeah, I don't think she's crazy either. I'm reminded of this video: Angelina Jolie Caught on Tape in Sleezy Drug Den! World Exclusive: Angie's Heroin & Cocaine Shame. The actual content of the video is Angelina circa 1999, in a clean apartment, having a very level-headed conversation with a friend about buying a house for her mother and not wanting to be burdened by a mortgage on a multi-million dollar home. No drugs in sight. (It was more interesting to me to learn how incredibly manipulative Angelina's mother was, and the degree to which Angelina was financially supporting her mother and brother.) I think a lot of her wild child stuff was exaggerated.

The kids are obviously the ones suffering here and I hope everything works out for them. We won't know the truth about much of anything else in this mess IMO.
What I do think is apparent is that AJ, for good or ill, seriously underestimated Brad Pitt, the professional. Her experience with her own mother perhaps had her assume that if you deny a father access to his kids after a certain point he will just give up.
But Pitt has been fighting her tooth and nail for years. Presumably they have some form of shared custody arrangement for the younger kids that she wants thrown out, but it's just not working out for her. He won on place of residence, he won on schools. He waits her out and lets his lawyers do their jobs. While she changes lawyers, wants judges and evidence thrown out because things aren't going her way. I think she's been surprised to have his whole professional discipline thrown at her that's been always evident in the way he conducts his career.
And things being in limbo goes both ways: He is in the kids' lives until they can decide for themselves and the courts have prevented her from stopping it.

I think a lot of her wild child stuff was exaggerated. I worked on Gia and know a lot of people who worked on Girl Interrupted. It wasn't. I've been waiting for the crazy to come back because I liked her better back then (I also wish she hadn't had so much plastic surgery). This "St. Angie" thing she created didn't work for me. I thought Crazy Angie was fun, and I still think there's a tremendous actress in there. Both Brad and Angelina have tremendously powerful PR machines working for them, so anything in the press is very suspect IMHO. Team Kids all the way.

The twins will be teenagers this year(where did the time go?) and they along with their older siblings should be able to decide for themselves where and with who they want to spend their time. I think their older two brothers are very team mom though.
