Because I am so diablocody's beeyotch ;D
An Ellen Page thread - as requested.
I thought she rocked it in Hard Candy, was wasted in X-Men (altho if Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen can slum it there, so can she), and the Juno lovefest is just beginning. I'm terrified to see American Crime because the real story is so brutal, so may have to miss that one.
Discuss, if you are so inclined.

She scared me in "Hard Candy."
So, she's getting this huge Oscar buzz for "Juno" (which I can't wait to see). Does that make her a lock, or will the Academy think she's too young?

Hooray for a fellow Canadian!
As long as the studio's support and the awards buzz keep up, she's a shoo-in for the designated Young Ingenue Oscar Nomination.

She was so good in Juno. I'm not sure if she'll win an Oscar, but I think she's a shoo-in for a Best Actress in a Comedy Or Musical Golden Globe.

I was bored by her in X-Men (and distracted by Aaron Stanford, who is a friend of a friend). But who cares? I really only watch for Hugh Jackman in costume.
She was fabulous in Hard Candy, though I couldn't finish the movie without fast forward. I didn't care what happened the characters.
I'm very much looking forward to her in Juno.

I went into Juno knowing NOTHING of the Ellen Page and came away from it a fan. I might never watch Hard Candy though. Ha.

I found it interesting she said the dialogue was fluid and organic for her because Juno's dialogue has been a sticking point for those who don't like it. You can tell from that interview that she really loved and understood who Juno was and every aspect of what the movie is really about and that's how she pulled it off. It's funny to hear her defend Juno when the interviewer calls her a "brat."
