I’ll put this here since she doesn’t have her own thread yet (though she totally should) and Ellen’s story largely involves Bret Ratner - Gal Gadot won’t sign for a Wonder Woman sequel unless Ratner is removed from the franchise.

His production company co-bankrolled the movie with WB, and he no doubt got a healthy cut of the profits. She’s insisting that WB buys him out and gives him the boot. She apparently was also supposed to present him an award last month but backed out when the accusations came to light.

I had already developed a girl crush on her after Wonder Woman. Now I’m ready to have her baby.

Now here is someone using their star power properly. She didn't have the clout up till now to make this happen, but she's applying pressure in a way that could actually work. Replacing her as Wonder Woman would cause huge amounts of backlash, so it's down to their star or a seriously problematic director.

I would think though that she is already signed up for all sequels, no? Not that this diminishes the statement she makes here, I'm just wondering.

As for Ellen, I absolutely love her.

Nope. Apparently even though most of her male counterparts get offered multi-film deals, Gadot was not. She may be already signed for the second movie, but she could be referring to any WW or Justice League movie beyond that.

Even if there was a contract, I can't see it be upheld if Gal was forces to work in a harassing or abusive environment.

Gal is probably in a position where she could break a contract and pay whatever fine (she and her husband are already wealthy through their real estate properties in Israel). But she also knows that she’s got WB by the short & curlys because it would be a PR disaster for them to side with an accused sex offender over friggin’ Wonder Woman, and the star of their first truly non-sucky DCEU film.

And she is really and truly not effing around. Ratner already agreed to step back from WB, moved his office from the WB lot, and was removed from the development of future projects. That would be enough for a lot of people. But she is saying, “No. Buy him out of his existing contract because he shouldn’t make another dime from the WW franchise and he shouldn’t be anywhere near it, even due to existing contracts.” She can afford to take a stand, but it is important that she’s doing it. She’s not just asking for lip service, she wants to hit Ratner in wallet or hit WB in their wallet if they refuse. Money is the only language a lot of these people speak.

Came out as trans in a beautiful, heartfelt social media post today. Looks like we'll need to update the subject to Elliot Page! Really proud of him for being so brave and open with his authentic self, especially since he's such a high profile person.
