I bought my ticket today! Apparently, they're not doing any midnight showings around here. They're doing them at 8:00, 8:30 and 8:45pm on Thursday night. 8:00 on the SuperScreen!!!!!

I know - here they're doing the midnight screenings plus the early shows that start at 8PM!!! I'm super excited!

Apparently they are now talking about a fourth installment of the series. Johnny Depp said he would come back. Also, I have to agree with all of you. I was so disappointed by DMC that I don't know what to expect from AWE.
Also, it seems that this franchise more suited to a July release not May. That sounds a little strange I know but that is how I feel.

They're doing midnight showings here too but I can't go. I bought tickets last night for the Thursday premiere here! Woohoo! Buckle buckle swash swash.

ETA: Maybe they don't want to compete with the Harry Potter July opening?

well, I myself LOVED the second one. My expectations were met and exceeded. I am very excited for the third. Though, I am really indecisive whether to go opening weekend, because of the crowds. Dunno.

With so many movies big movies opening in such a sort period of time, I wonder if this will be the movie that gets lost in the shuffle? I am looking forward to seeing Geoffrey Rush though.

Shrek opened this past weekend (122 million opening) Spiderman 3 is falling incredibly fast (28 million this weekend - which is a 50% drop from last weekend, and dropped 60% the second week of opening). June 1...Knocked up is the biggest movie opening. June 8th weekend -- Hostel part 2 and Ocean's Thirteen -- not big blockbusters...

...What big movies? What shuffle? Shrek will be the only true competition. Pirates is being hyped big time, the country loves the franchise. I think it'll do just fine. lol.

Agreed, June seems relatively quiet with perhaps Fantastic 4: ROTSS being the only movie to generate a high opening weekend ($50M+). Spider-Man 3 has already fallen to the wayside so it's just Captain Jack and Shrek.

If it's between those two, my money is on Captain Jack.

I have been catching Pirates 2 on Starz over the weekend and last night and I have to say that in the first one I didn't mind Keira one bit. But in the second one there was something just irritating about her. Was it her wanting to be TOO tough? Or the hitting on Jack thing? I don't mind when Jack makes lewd comments to her because that is his character but when she was acting all interested in Jack it just annoyed me. Was it the way her character was written or was it Keira thinking she was bigger than her role? Either way I wish they'd downplay Elizabeth in the third one and give Orlando and Johnny (especially johnny) most of the scenes.

Did she annoy anyone else? Or is it just me because I'd die if Elizabeth ever really got together with Jack.
