I loved it - start to finish - loved the whole damn thing. I thought the ending was perfect although I would've liked for Elizabeth's father and Norrington to have lived, I was please with how all the other characters ended up. The series feels finished but they could totally do a fourth if they wanted (and I would so watch - I really can't get enough of these movies).
The Keith Richards cameo was perfect! Oh - the scene with Sparrow in Davey Jones' locker was priceless! Good Lord - I was almost in tears from laughing. You just know Depp had a blast filming that.
I thought there were some genuinly touching moments although the opening scene was just disturbing. Norrington's and Will's deaths and- the scene where the Pearl passes Elizabeth's father were all very well done - I was genuinely sad. Poor Elizabeth - she really got put through the wringer in this one.
Glad to see that all of the supporting casts from the previous movies were back. Especially the two bumbling British guys from the first movie (I don't think they were in the second). They didn't have much to do but it was good to see them again. I loved the monkey - he was used very well to great comedic effect.
So, I may have been a little biased to enjoy this movie but I did and we are going to see it again on Sunday. I enjoyed the second and while neither can top the first, this one comes very close to being almost as good.

Jynni - I echo each and every one of your senitments 100%. I too am going to go see it again on Sunday with my mom and a friend.
The 3 showings at my theater were sold out last night (they didn't do midnight showings though), but they said there were tickets available the rest of the weekend. The manager also did say that advanced ticket sales haven't caught on here yet, so to expect the shows to be sold out. We'll nail down tonight what time on Sunday we want to go and get our tickets.
I can't wait to see the box office returns on it. I haven't decided if I think it's going to beat Spidey or not yet.

Just got back, I thought it was horrible, and I want to see it again. I could NOT follow the subplots and the doublecrossings. For example < what on earth did Will tell Sao Feng that made Sao Feng agree to give him a crew?
I also wasnt' happy with the attempted rape scene. It was gratuitous - couldn't they let Sao Feng have a clean death?>
That said, I'm seeing it in Singapore, and when Chow Yun Fatt issued that line, "Welcome to Singapore", the entire theatre let out a happy little sigh.
We're such bumpkins.

I almost didn't get to see it tonight because when we got to the theater they weren't sure they were going to play it since a water pipe got cut and the toilets weren't working. Eventually they realized that was dumb and let us in, but halfway through the movie, there was an intermission. So strange.
Anyhoo, I really liked it and I am still kind of processing it. I feel like there is more of a story to tell. I think I really need to think about it some more...well that and go see it again.

I just read this review for it in the Times Picayune and I couldn't help but giggle:
"The title, 'At World's End,' refers to the approximate time at which the closing credits will roll."

I enjoyed it and I found the plot wasn't too hard to follow if you just accepted the fact that everyone was going to double cross everyone else and just went with it. That said, if someone asked me to describe what actually happened... Not so sure I could do that. I felt that the action/characters balance wasn't handled quite as well this time around. I saw it coming, but I was still disappointed when Norrington died. I felt he deserved a little better. I was rooting for you, mate!
Looong movie, but I'll probably see it again with my friends who didn't see it this time.

That reminds me, how on earth I could forget? There's one good reason to watch this -
Jack Sparrow, topless. Sweaty, tattooed, and built.

My husband and I saw the movie this afternoon and we were thoroughly disappointed in it. We both came away with a great deal of annoyance for Elizabeth (my eyes were rolling in several scenes, pretty much like this: ) and felt it was disjointed and pretty much a mess. I loved seeing Barbossa again, I feel Jack was underutilized and poor Will...he seemed to barely be in this movie at all. The story seemed to move both slowly and frantically at the same time, as if they were trying to shove everything they could think of into three hours and still have a cohesive story. Eh, I could write more but I don't want to spoil anyone's enjoyment of it, since it's beginning to look like I'm holding an "unpopular movie opinion."

Totally agree Cranky Old Broad. It was a mess. And Elizabeth was like the ultimate Mary Sue. She drove me nuts.

Talked about mixed reviews! I would say you all are fairly evenly divided on opinions of the film.
Thanks for the extra spoiler info, SarcasticCheese!
