I actually read on another site something I thought would have been a better path for Norrington. Whoever posted it suggested that Norrington should have switched with Jones, and that would have been a great character arc for him.

I hope there's a "Futu" cuz I think Jack's search for the thingie would be a lot of fun. Part Trois was too dark and too CGI for me. I'll still see it again, sucker that I am. I hated what happened to Norrington, I wanted him to pull a fast one on Beckett. I was glad they developed Will in this one, because in DMC when Kiera was kicking ass in drag and one-upping Captain Jack at the end (to his delight, which was the best part of the movie) poor old Orly was looking all bedraggled and haus-frau-ish at the end and he didn't deserve her. Now they're a good match. Did they carry the double-sword-wielding Elizabeth over from DMC in this one? I was looking for that as her signature but I must've blinked. Also, I wish they'd given Keef more to do. But then we'd be looking at 3.5 hours instead of just 3.

I just got in and I'll have to go with the unpopular opinion.
Hated it. I almost walked out after the first hour but hoped, beyond hope, that it would improve.
I figure about 90 minutes could have been edited out easily.
The film had no heart, no sense of joy.
What a disappointment.

Don't worry, you have company. While I didn't hate it (I love my PotC far too much to hate), I was seriously let down and dissapointed by what they did to the characters. And word on the editing.

Hey guys, can someone repeat the 'after the credits' scene? I saw it tonight but hadn't read any spoilers or reviews beforehand.... Thanks.
ETA: Thread. Killer. Can someone give me a plaque now?

Basically you see Elizabeth standing on shore with her and Will's son, and Will is sailing towards them in the Dutchman, and the flash of green light thing happens, which according to the writers means that Will is free of the curse and no longer captain of the Dutchman, but that isn't very clear from the scene itself. Hopefully I remembered all the important stuff - I saw it a couple of weeks ago. ETA: I don't think I'll ever spoil anything correctly on the first try. Yay me.

Apparently, the final scene was heavily edited and the original shot explained it much better. I believe the writers addressed that on their blog or something.
Damn those editors.
