Geoffrey Rush! In the Royal Navy!
I have a feeling I won't miss the presence of Keira or Orlando at all. It's all about Depp and Rush for me.

The reviews aren't promising but I'll still be there. Unpopular opinion but I liked the second and third movies. I still couldn't give you a coherent synopsis of the thid movie though as everyone was double or triple-crossing each other.

I liked the second and third movies too, they were so much fun if you just ignored the plot(s).

Saw it last night, the movie is whatever but not that good. New hottie alert though, the guy who played Phillip, Sam Claflin, yummy.

does anyone feel like Johnny is just playing to the camera now as Capt Jack? It's weird also to have this film and not have Elizabeth and Will.

It did seem a bit weird, but I still liked it. Penelope Cruz didn't irritate me as much as she usually does. Probably because her and Johnny Depp have such smoking hot chemistry.
What I really liked was the blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo by Judi Dench. It was hilarious.

When I saw that scene with Judi I recognized her right away! Great moment!

So, that was Judi Dench! I knew it. Cool of her to have a cameo in this movie. Johnny of course is the main of this but I liked him paired with Penelope--there is some nice chemistry there. I also really liked Geoffrey Rush in this--with his bug-collecting and peg leg.
I know the reviews weren't that flattering so I went to see this with lowered expectations. It was a bit slow at parts but overall I really enjoyed it.

I took my nine year old to see this today and he loved it - target audience I guess!
I thought it was fine. Penelope Cruz was a more than able replacement for Kiera Knightly even though she looked obviously pregnant all the way through - I was getting concerned for her with all that scrambling up and down the mountainside!

If it makes you feel better, winkcat, the long shots of Angelica wasn't Penelope Cruz, but her sister.
