Apparently I need to watch the first one again, too, because I have no memory of that scene.

It was in the random mid-movie subplot where they get abandoned on a desert island and she has to burn the rum to make a rescue beacon. A funny sequence, but I always thought that part of the movie was marred by the very noticeable lack of chemistry between Johnny and Kiera. I wondered whether that was deliberate, too, since there were definitely indications that he was trying to play Jack Sparrow as gay.

Did they already film POTC3? I thought they did because I remember seeing spoilery photos about a certain event - I won't mention it for those who haven't seen the photos, but that seemed like a 3rd movie event to me.

And if they didn't film it already, how will Keith Richards be in it, with his head injuries? Or was it that he had a stroke?

Richards To Shoot 'Pirates' Role in September

Keith Richards' Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 cameo will be filmed when The Rolling Stones European tour wraps up in September, following months of speculation. Johnny Depp famously based his character Captain Jack Sparrow on the guitarist, and Richards has long been touted for an appearance as Depp's father in one of the two forthcoming sequels. And, after masses of on/off speculation, director Gore Verbinski has confirmed Richards will appear in the third Pirates movie, despite falling out of a palm tree in April and subsequently undergoing skull surgery. Verbinski tells MTV, "We've written a little cameo, and Keith has scheduled us into his tour, and it's going to be a lot of fun. Apparently he's doing really well, and we'll shoot him in September."

That's so cool that they're working around the tour and everything. I don't know if that means the third movie will still be shooting then or if they'll just be doing his part.

From what I hear they're still busy shooting POTC3, so it's not completely done as of yet.

Shooting for 3 picks up in August and is scheduled to go through the end of October. At least the last time I read. There was something with Gore Vebinski that said they had approximately 70 days of shooting left.
