I'm ever so excited!! I can't go until the weekend or sometime next week, but I'm so there. I don't even care what anyone else says - the last movie was just so much fun and there's precious little fun in movies lately.

It has Captain Jack Sparrow! Who cares about the plot and acting of others?! Oh and it has Bill Nighy as the squid Davy Jones! With a crab arm!

Yeah, my roommates and I bought our tickets to the midnight screening at 10:00 this morning. and there were already people starting to line up... so excited!

Alas, I cannot go to the midnight screening. I take the bus and none runs that early. I have to wait until after work. I am dressing up a little. I have a pirate ship necklace that I covet, a jacket with a pirate ship on the back, piraty pants, a POTC pin, and knee boots.

My boyfriend and I are apparently going with a couple of girls from his work. I have never met them, so it should be an adventure. I'm less excited about this movie than I was about the first one, and I'm not sure why...

really? I loved it. There was one scene in particular that was a very "what the fuck" moment for me, but other than that, I thought it was great. I had read a lot of mixed reviews before I saw it, and I can sort of see where they were coming from - too long, over the top action, etc - but the whole movie was so damn entertaining that I didn't even care.

I liked it too, but I think I need a re-watch to determine if I love it or not. Some parts in the beginning seemed very disconnected to me, but the movie picked up and the fight scenes were spectacular and pretty hilarious. The ending was very cliffhanger-ish but I understand that they want you to watch the 3rd movie.
[spoilers] I didn't really understand what was up with Davy Jones and the Flying Dutchman, and how does having his heart control him? I understand that whoever controls the Flying Dutchman and the Creature can control the seas but how does the heart relate? [/spoilers]

It seems that the critics hate it...however from what I'm reading, it seems as if they've forgotton what type of movie they are reviewing.
I think they seem to forget that without Depp's Capt'n Jack, the first one probably would've sucked big time. And really, from what I can tell, that's all people want - more Capt'n Jack (or maybe I'm just projecting? ;D) in any way they can get it.
