Just got back from seeing this with my husband and 11yr-old daughter. Lots and lots of sniffling about Dobby. Thought dance scene was stoooopid. Loved the twins. Wished there were more Neville. Love Luna (thought her dad was kinda hot, too). Belletrix is deliciously evil, as usual.
And do wizards' bodies not rot?
And yeah, what are they going to do about Tonks? Her hair looked like crap, by the way.

I saw this yesterday with my daughter and I don't understand what the big deal is about the dance scene. I didn't see it as seductive or wrong in any way. I just saw old friends taking a few moments to do something light and fun in the midst of their dark and frightening circumstances. I'm not a big fan and have only watched the movies (half the time not understanding what's happening), so for some perspective I asked my daughter about it. She didn't think the dancing scene was strange or out of the ordinary either. We're so clueless the two of us. Not having read the books I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this and was able to follow it. I hated Half Blood Prince and thought I would die right there in my theater seat of boredom. I had no idea what was going on no matter how much my daughter tried to explain it. So I was dreading this one, especially with the long running time. But Deathly Hallows was filmed in a way that even someone like me could follow along and enjoy it. I no longer have Harry Potter movie dread and can't wait to see Part 2!

I think part of my enjoyment this time was that the film was much less of an incoherent mess than other parts. Yes, Kloves did leave out some stuff (and added other) but not to the annoying extent as he did before. I'm not surprised that this one is more enjoyable for folks who haven't read the books.

I hated that he left out Kreacher bonding with the trio, I really enjoyed that in the books, the goodbye scene with Dudley and all the added on Hermoine scenes. I know Kloves has a boner for her, but seriously dude, stop.

I love him. He needs to do comedy.

Brilliant!
And yes, what was that brightly colored nursery that Harry was thrown into when he was in Cedric's Hollow? I wasn't a huge follower of the books, but I don't remember that part in the final edition.

David Yates talks about a scene that will be put on the DVD: Sounds like a cute scene (that is not in the book, is it?). But his reason for why it's not in the film sounds a bit fishy. Didn't he make up the dance scene to ease up the tension? Anyway, 10-15 minutes extra film on that DVD sounds fine and I'm looking forward to that particular scene. I read this on ONTD, but apparently this is the original source with the video in which Yates mentions this.

I think the nursery was just the neighbor's house, which they breached when the wall fell down in the fight. (I had taken LittlestCatHead to the toilet and was just sitting back down when this scene was happening)
