I thought the rumor was that Dan Radcliffe was "just friends" with one of the makeup artists on the movie. Whom I belive is 26. Was does that mean and who would she be? My friend would be really sad to hear that, but maybe also pleased that he likes older women

I believe I read it on Perez or one of the other gossip sites a few weeks ago. But now I cannot find the link. I know I didn't dream it. Cause in my pervy Harry Potter dreams Dan is legal and with me. As I recall the rumor was that he was seen hanging out with a girl who was/is a makeup artist on the HP movies and of course it led people to believe that she was giving young harry an um...education in another kind of magic. P.S. here is a brief mention of the rumor.

Think this is the best movie out of the series yet. Was also very pleased with the hottness of Cedric and Viktor.

Emma Watson did have some good parts, like her Yule Ball scenes. I guess, in retrospect, I wasn't that bothered by her performance. However, Michael Gambon as Dumbledore kills me! The scene where he aggressively charges after Harry makes me wonder if he's ever picked up a Potter book, and Dumbledore is described as a tall, powerful figure, Gambon looks like a frail, short man wandering around in his bathrobes.

I agree about Dumbledore. Richard Harris played him exactly as he is described in the books. In the books, he is described as being very old, yet you get this feeling from the way he carries himself, his wisdom, that you don't mess with him. Michael Gambon is too cheery, just too aggressive with the role for my taste.

Reading the books, I came away feeling that Dumbledore was wise and benevolent. He always seemed to know how to fix things. He almost seemed God-like, but approachable. I can't really expain it, as my brain is fried right now. Michael Gamdon Dumbledore just seems entirely wrong. Richard Harris' voice and demeaner was more Dumbledore-like.

Probably just my interpretation, but as I read the books I always pictured Dumbledore as a wise old hippie, which, in PoA, is exactly how Gambon played him. In this movie, not so much. I agree that the part where he attacked Harry was completely out-of-character, but I still like him more than Harris, who was too aloof...and too old. Dumbledore is certainly not a passive character, although who knows. He doesn't really do much in the first two books. But I'm gonna say I'm not a particularly big fan of either.

To me, the way I picture Dumbledore is right between Harris and Gambon. Dumbledore in the books kinda comes across as, "I'm a nice and cheery guy, but don't fuck with me." Harris get's the "I'm a nice and cheery guy" part while Gambon is spot on with the whole "Don't fuck with me" part. A little too good, in fact. Practically attacking Harry in Goblet was insaaane. Gambon has admitted to not reading any of the books, which puts him up there with Steve Kloves on my "People who are involved with HP movies that I can't stand" list. I can't imagine that Half-Blood Prince is gonna be pretty if he's still playing Dumbledore by then.

I wish Ian McKellen wouldn't have turned down the role. I think he would've been perfect as Dumbledore - his Gandalf is just about how I imagine DD to be. I know he (understandably) didn't want to get type cast - but he really would've been perfect!
I must say the more and more I think about it, the more I love Fiennes as Voldemort. I just love the way he plays him so human but clearly batshit crazy evil. In the book, I could never get a good feel for Voldy - he always comes across as cartoonishly evil or something like that - just not real. Umbridge felt more intimidating than he did.
Seeing Voldy so human really fleshes it out for me - I could actually understand how people were so scared. Plus I think the underlying Fiennes hotness adds to the character. Tom Riddle was supposed to be handsome so it makes sense that Voldy would still have some leftover hotness buried under all that SuperEvilness. Though some red contacts would've been nice. Though I guess if Harry can have blue eyes, Voldy's can be normal.

I really can't see Ian McKellan as Dumbledore. ...I loved Ian as Gandalf, but Dumbledore...sorry, not working for me.
