I know that some people are finding Johnny a bit creepy as Willie Wonka so I thought I would post some pictures of him in his next 2 pictures. The Earl of Rochester in The Libertine which is due to be released September 17. Johnny is very naughty in this role. A behind the scenes peek at the Earl This next picture is of Victor the character Johnny voice overs in Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride due out September 24. Wow 2 Johnny movies in 1 week. Victor would be the fellow on the left

I was thinking he looks like Edward Scissorhands - I know - still Johnny but a very specific look.

Jynni, I was actually thinking that as I typed my post. I just didn't add it for some reason. It's the black hair and clothes combined with the pale skin...combined with the fact that I think it is supposed to look like JD anyway.

For my fellow Johnny fans pleasure here is a list of his following upcoming appearances. July 7, Thursday Entertainment Tonight Clip of Johnny interviewed on the set of 21 Jumpstreet for their "Stars Before They Were Famous" segment. July 8, Friday OPRAH Johnny Depp & Kate Winslet (OAD 11/02/04) (PG) A rare interview: Johnny Depp sits down with Oprah. Plus, Kate Winslet! (I was really annoyed with Oprah was she only asked the same old) The Today Show Monday, July 11 (7-9 a.m.): Johnny Depp discusses his new film "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Friday, July 15 (7-9 a.m.): Johnny Depp and Freddie Highmore talk about their new film "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Wednesday, July 13 (Why Oh Why Couldn't it have been with DAVE) LA PREMIERE: Sunday July 10th Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Hollywood Premier Info for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

He looked kind of strange in the Oprah interview. Until I read the above, I hadn't even realized it was him. He seemed to be smirking at her. (Not that Oprah doesn't deserve a good smirking...)
OTOH Kate didn't really look like herself either.
edited because like and look like are two different things...

I listened to the movie clips before I read anything about this, and to me it sounded very clearly like Johnny had combined the voices of Mister Rogers and Carol Channing. An amusingly creepy combination, if ever there was.

This won't be a popular opinion, but I think he's ugly. Not overrated, but ugly, and ugly by his own merits with all the weird ass clothes he wears, and his weird personality, and his freaky ass Willy Wonka interpretation.
He just looked so gross at the Oscars this year, and I never cease to be shocked how popular he is.
Oh, and is it true that he gave River Phoenix the drugs he fatally overdosed on that night? I have heard that before--not that I'm blaming River's death on Johnny even if that was true.
