The film just opened in Italy and Netherlands.
In both countries, it flopped, not even making the top ten.
That makes it a total of 15 countries in which the film has failed at the box office.

(and come on, by now we all know it's not a "supposed flop"...it is a real, unquestionable box office failure, in 15 countries ...and still not even its budget back )



I saw the DVD on a shop close by...they are actually going with that DVD art...
... they better not be surprised when thd DVD flops, just like the film did.
That cover art is not only unappealing and garish, but so wrong from a basic design point of view.
And River...good lord...why is she shown made up likea cross between Buffy and a 2 dollar hooker?
The art won't be interesting for a casual shopper...it's just amateurish...
I honestly thought that the art was some fan Photoshop thing, as opposed to a pro job from a marketing dept at a major film studio...

Baldwyn recently appeared in that atrocious Poseidon Adventure TV Remake (which got bad reviews and even worse ratings), and Fillion will appear in a Z-grade horror cheapie called Slither, but I can't find anything regarding Gina Torres or Summer Glau...

IGNFilmforce has reported that there might be a sequel in spite of the film's box office, however the further adventures of the Serenity will most likely be on a much cheaper Sci Fi Channel serial...
Anyone heard anything about that?

I have the DVD already! Yay for Play.com! Since they had to ship it abroad I think they estimate how long it will take and ship it in advance so it should get here for the 20th. If thet's the case it arrived very quickly as I got it yesterday.

The cover art looks way better in the flesh. I hated the photos I had seen for the cover but it's printed in a very shiny way, almost like a hologram image. Since it came from Canada it has the french cover printed on the reverse and that is just normal printing and looks very plain.

The film is as great as I remembered it, the commentary is very good and the outtakes funny.

For some reason the Australians get a two disc version with more extras. Bastards.
