Thank you. My son really wants to go see it, but I just wasn't sure if it was kid friendly. Now I will try and explain to him that this is an "adult version" Batman movie, we'll see how that goes - ha.

When we went to see this movie someone decided to bring their 3 year old (I'm guessing the age). He spent the entire movie saying- mommie, I don't understand, what's going on, why's he hurting him, why's he yelling. Every 5 minutes. Needless to say this slightly ruined our enjoyment of the film. So I definitly don't think this is a movie for young children. (not that your child would be the same- I'm just saying).
The movie was excellent overall.

Thank you all for your opinions, I have decided that I will not be bringing my son to see this movie. And, yes, he probably would be asking questions through out the entire film. Ok, sorry about the OT, back to your reviews of the actual movie.

She was really unlikeable. I cannot believe she bitch-slapped him -- twice. Not only was it completely uncalled for, it made her look like a psycho.

I actually hope that other than the Joker they don't repeat any more villians. I'm sort of sick of Catwoman. I blame Halle Barry entirely. I wouldn't mind seeing Catwoman in a sequel if she were cast right. Halle Berry's version was too bland, perky & unsexy. She was horribly miscast, to say the least. Catwoman needs to be played by a femme fatale, which is why I think AJ's perfect for the part. I agree, but she's already played another Batvillain, Poison Ivy, in Batman & Robin. The less said about that movie, the better.

I completely forgot about that. IRRC, she did a very good job - I remember wanting her to kill off Batman. One of those "movies in which you wanted the villains to win" things. It's a shame she ended up in a Shitmaker directed one.

I thought the movie was pretty good, but the majority of my attention went to the guy who played Scarecrow. Damn, is he pretty.

I adore Cillian Murphy. I will watch 28 Days Later every time it comes on HBO because I love that his voice seems so growly for such a slight man. His voice was very different in this film
I loved his reading of the line "It's the Bat Man." Just the way he said "Bat." Great moment.
Through the entire movie, I was trying to figure out if he was wearing eyeliner.
I didn't even recognize Gary Oldman until his third time on screen.
Christian Bale was perfect. Just loved him.
Overall, I really enjoyed the film, although my ears are still ringing two days after seeing it. It was damn loud.

I really loved this. I thought it was excellent. I was a little hesitant because I had heard a negative review, basically criticizing the dark tone and the amount of time dedicated to the history of Bruce Wayne/Batman. I completely disagree, but I really didn't care for the last two Batmans prior to this, so I guess I fall more into the "comic" camp versus the TV camp.
The sets were really well done. I loved that they mixed an art deco theme with modernity.
That Scarecrow head was wack.
Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine were perfect in their respective roles. Especially Freeman. I also appreciated Rutger Hauer.
Christian Bale was fabulous. I love that he is finally getting the sort of big roles he deserves. He is also incredibly gorgeous.

Xiola, and anyone else looking for a Batman fix for younger viewers: you might check out the Batman: The Animated Series films. There are five or six now, and they're really high quality.
