As a Batman fan, while I was already planning to see Batman Begins, the 10-minute trailer on last night's Smallville Season Finale made me want to see it even more. As if seeing Christian Bale in various states of dress and undress weren't enough incentive, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy & Ken Watanabe, make me want to see it even more. As for Katie What's-her-name, whatever. Post about all things concerning Batman Begins here, with or without nipples.

I'll probably see it eventually on DVD. I can't believe the people they get to star in these Batman movies! The budget must be practically unlimited.
Liam Neeson bugs me. When he was in that Star Wars movie he was griping about how he's an actor, damn it, and he said he felt like quitting acting after the cheesy blue-screen acting he had to do in that movie. Like he was above it all. So now he's in Batman Begins. And let's not forget The Haunting, another silly cheese-fest. Where's this guy coming from?

Liam Neeson was born to star in bad movies. Yeah, he has his moments where he's all Shakespearean and all about the Oscar nods, but face it: the man was in Darkman. And that says a lot.
As for this movie, I'm tempted but after the fourth movie that shall not be mentioned, I might just pass.

Yes, but he was also in Excalibur, Rob Roy, Schindler's List and Kinsey, which counts for much more with me than the suckfests he was in.
Topic: While Batman & Robin sucks, I think that, based on what I've seen so far, the franchise is doing the right thing by going back to the beginning. CB's more than capable to play the title role & since the other big name co-stars are probably just in the movie for the money anyway, chances are they're just gonna just have as much fun as they can with their roles.

Is the trailer that ran during Smallville online anywhere?
Can't wait for this one. Christian Bale is (seemingly) ideally cast and is also The Hotness. The fact that Christopher Nolan is directing should already make it a zillion times better than the bat-nipples and Mr. Freeze crapfest that was Batman & Robin.

I have to say, I don't know why everyone hates the Batsuit nipples so much. Concerning "Batman and Robin," nipples were the least of it's problems.
I'm not too sure about this new one. Sooo many famous people. Even Alfred is being played by a famous person (Michael Caine). I wish they'd pick unknowns, at least for the smaller roles. Instead it's all "Hey! Let's get Jim Carrey! Let's get Jack Nicholson! Let's get Arnold Schwargenewhatever! Do they fit the parts? Who cares! They're famous!" I know this is how Hollywood goes but Batman films are especially bad this way and always have been.
Christian Bale does look Bruce Wayne-like though. I think he'll do a good job.

I SO want this movie to be good...but I just can't believe it...I saw the trailer when I wen't to go see Hitchhiker's Guide...and they just kept alluding to the big paradigm of good and evil. I keep waiting for the line "I AM THE NIGHT" to show up in all its cheesy glory somewhere.
Okay, we get it. There are bad people in Gotham. Bruce Wayne needs to step and do something. No need to beat us on the head with it.

Awww, I liked Batman and Robin, rubber nipples and bat butt-thongs and everything. So much cheesy fun... more like the Adam West/Burt Ward TV version. Now, Batman Forever, with Val Kilmer, that was a piece of crap. "The bat signal is not a pager!" Like, duh... weren't cell phones around back then? Nicole Kidman was so horribly miscast.
I'm not sure about Batman Begins. If there's a charismatic villain, it'll do well. I'm dying to see who they might cast as Ras al Ghul.

Ken Watanabe, from The Last Samurai plays Ras al Ghul.

Really! Wasn't Ras supposed to be Middle Eastern or Arabic? Not that I don't think Watanabe wouldn't be a good villain, but I'd like to know how they would explain the Asianess of the character.
