I dunno. I liked everyone in their roles.
I disagree about the setting up of Linda Cardellini's character. I got the feeling that she'd noticed him for a while but just chose that moment to come onto him.

I read the short story after seeing the movie, and I was really struck by much the characters and scenes that were only mentioned in passing in the book seemed so flat and characaturized(sp?) in the movie. Lurleen, LC's character, and AF's character in particular, but also the Thanksgiving scene in Jack's house, which really struck me as unneccessary even before I read the book. But I still think it was a great adaptation. Just for the way they portrayed how Ennis finds out what really happened to Jack deserved the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.

I generally stay as far away from MTV as possible, but if it's the kiss that I'm thinking of, I will run over and vote for it a thousand times. HOT. If you mean the reunion kiss, then that's the one. Yep, that's the one. That's one of the most passionate scenes I've ever seen in a movie. Wow.
