I'd love to go see it. But I doubt it'll be played anywhere near me. (I live in the Midwest)

I also would love to see it in the theatre, but it may be better if i see it alone in my house. I don't need some 80 year old granny 'oh, my lording' out while I am trying to watch two guys get it on.

Oh I know! I live in a smallish hick town and I swear, if I hear any sort of giggling or 'ew'ing during the pretty boy sex scene, I am gonna have to cut someone.

Like they waz at a Fiddy Cent movie!
Topic:Brokeback Mountain will be the movie I show my husband when he comes back from Iraq not knowing anything at all about this movie. I give him 12 minutes before "Gay cowboys eating pudding" is mentioned in one form or another.

After reading this thread, I've come to the conclusion that David Poland of Movie City News was absolutely right when he referred to this article and others like it, as proof that Brokeback Mountain is not only a beautiful, groundbreaking love story, but also a soon-to-be-classic piece of "porn" for straight women. Yes, lawd. Those photos are thermonuclear hot. And I say that as someone who's never been a fan of either Ledger or Gyllenhaal.

I cannot wait. It looks beautiful and heartbreaking. I hope it lives up to the hype for me because I am in the mood for some weeping (and hot men). Plus, I have always thought that Heath Ledger had it in him to be a great actor but he really hadn't done much - aside from Monster's Ball - to prove my case. I just kept waiting and now I get to say "See? I told you so!!!" to all of my friends who thought I was trying to legitimize a crush or something.

Dude what the hell?! I just checked Fandango for times for this movie and it isn't showing anywhere in Vegas. Anywhere! Please don't tell me I have to wait until this comes out on DVD because I really want to see it.

Re: comments about people laughing or making "ew, gay" remarks during the movie... I don't know, why would they go see it if they are that anti-gay? Or are really that many people who either don't know anything about the movie who would go see a movie without finding something out about it first? I think I'm overestimating movie-goers' intelligence, here. I just don't know why people would see a movie poster and say, "Gee, that looks good! Let's see that" and then get outraged about the OMG GAY content. But I'm sure they will. Please tell me people are smarter than that.
Do you think there will be a lot of people walking out when they realize they're in a gay cowboy movie?

OT: That reminds me when this older couple at the Mall of America thought the roller coaster in the mall was a sight seeing train. I'm not sure how they could've thought this, but they damn near had a heart attack on the roller coaster.
I don't see many people leaving the theater unless they know absolutely nothing about the film going in.
