Unfortunately I will have to wait a while until Terry Gilliam's new movie is coming down-under but I simply can't wait.
I personally give a toss about Mr. Ledger and Mr. Damon but Monica Bellucci and Peter Stormare in the same movie directed by the master himself!!!
The story is also right in Terry Gilliam's breadbasket. To bridge the gap until the theatrical release I shall watch the Criterion DVD of Brazil many times over!

Braaaaaaazil!!!
Yes, I love Gilliam, I do I do.
This is the ONLY movie coming out that I really do want to see (Okay, March of the Penguins and the Aristocrats is right up there...but this is in wide release, so it's easier to get to...even though the Jersey shore is usually where limited-release movies end up anyway).
But yes...the Monica Bellucci...all I can say is...niiiiiiice!

That's too bad. But I heard that it was on the shelf due to wrangling between Gilliam and the brothers Weinstein.
I'm just itching to see a movie that taps into the deep weirdness of the original Grimm Bros. tales, before Disney sanitized them.

I'm having a hard time deciding based on the previews whether this looks plush or cheap (ala Van Helsing). I know I'll see it though. I love Terry Gilliam-- he has a good eye for environment/ambience, so I am rooting for this pick...

I'm so there when the movie comes out. I don't care how critically maulled it is - if I went to see King Arthur, I have no excuse not to see this. Or, in fact, any movie that comes out ever.
The movie concept is great (and, dare I say, seems rather original), but I can very easily imagine it being screwed up quite horribly.

I've heard the movie is horrible...it's been on the shelf for a while. That's generally not a good sign. Myself, I don't care if it's crap. I have to support Gilliam, who at least cares about the movies he makes and doesn't churn out the same Hollywood tripe (okay, when he's off his game, he can turn out his own brand of tripe). Yes, I'm a Python nerd. I'm going to see Spamalot for my birthday. Hehehehehe

I'm so there. Gilliam at his worst is better than 99% of the hacks out there. Damon and Ledger? Meh.
In the meantime, I think I shall obsessively watch my The Adventures of Baron Munchhausen DVD and reread my collection of Grimm's Fairy Tales.

What is this movie about, exactly? The guys that wrote the fairy tales? What do they do?

I think the basic plot is the two brothers scam money out of towns by faking evil/magical scares and then offering to kill/run out the evil doer.
But, they go to a town and find out there's really something evil afoot, and have to battle for real.
