Angel, the Queen goes plenty of places where security could pose problems. The town hall in windsor wouldn't be the only one. and I believe that grand affair is going to consist of finger foods. Yes, I realize that caviar is a finger food, but it's not going to be a banquet.
As for Diana, head case that she might very well have been, the royal family used her as a brood mare to furnish them with an heir, and she did just that. I can't remember why Charles didn't marry Camilla back then, but I think it had something to do with her having slept with everybody in the country or something like that. Hardly virginal.
I'm neither for or against the C&C union. Don't care if they marry or not.

Someone back on 'the other board' described Camilla (in her younger days) as being the "town bike."
I think that's one of the greatest expressions eva!!

I've seen that expression somewhere, eleanor. And I also read that her opening line to Chuck was "My great grandmother was your great great grandfather's mistress, so, care to give it a go?". Or words to that effect.

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is a "morganatic" marriage? Thanks.

Don't Prince Michael of Kent and his wife have a morganatic marriage, and he's given up any right to the throne? You know, because she's a Catholic.
The fact that her father was a high-ranking Nazi is, of course, neither here nor there. It's the Catholics we have problems with!!11!!1!!1! ::rolls eyes::

Diana was a fruitcake and very difficult to live with... but I guess that's not the point.
Most rich, and famous men marry younger and younger women. The older they get, the younger the wives...
Camilla is frumpy, 57 and looks it. Charles adores her. Menopausal women should be thrilled. Doesn't it demonstrate that youth and beauty are not what matters the most? I think it proves that deep, mutual attraction can survive a lifetime. You may disapprove, but their love seems very, very real and I find it rather romantic.

Hell, Chuck is "frumpy" too. He's just gonna run the country some day, like when he's about 85 as soon as Mum bites the big toad. They really are a perfect match in the looks department too - he likes horses and she looks like one. What's not to like?

I couldn't have said it better myself, Brookie.
And, as I have said before, they're two ugly, useless people who deserve each other.

No, that would be because she's a Nazi.

They are both incredibly unattractive older people, but that shouldn't stop them from getting married. However, what ever happened to the gay rumors? She could be the best beard that ever bearded!
