Yesterday in my class, a kid who apparently has some sort of behavioral/social disorder jumped up on his chair before class and sang the M:I theme song (duh duh DUH DUH, DUH DUH duh duh) but instead he sang "I am Tom Cruise, I am Tom Cruise" until I told him to stop. Now I can't get the damn thing out of my head.

Even though it is annoying when you're the teacher, that is probably the funniest thing I've heard in a while.

Yeah, I tried really hard to keep from either laughing or giving him an obvious WTF look. Did I mention I teach community college? That's really what made it so uncomfortable for everyone.

Richard Roeper was on Stern this morning and he said that Tom is pretty much Teflon when it comes to bringing in money regardless of his personal life. WoTW made over $100 mil. He reluctantly said that Tom has had the longest streak of any of our current action stars. I plan to continue my Tom boycott though I might relent if it comes out in IMax.

Yeah, regardless of the crazy of the past year, the clam is still the biggest movie star in the world with the best record of the past 25 years. At first I didn't think the film would suffer at the BO because of him, but now I'm seriously begining to wonder. I keep going back and forth. On the one hand, everyone is making fun of him and he must be the most annoying celeb around right now. On the otherhand, he has such a solid record of getting asses in seats, MI3 is an action film and it's the first summer movie and won't really have any competition for 2 weeks. But regardless of how much it makes domestically, I still think it will be huge internationally where people are less aware of the crazy.

I'll be going to see it- I told my friend that there was no way I'd be spending money on anything CTC related, and he said he'd be buying the tickets and some Junior Mints for me to throw at the screen if I wanted to go with him. Hooray!
Plus, I'm a sucker for ginger men, and this movie has 2 of 'em. Rawr!

I'll see it, but I won't buy a ticket. I'll sneak in for a 'free' 2nd feature one evening.

I'll wait for the rental.
Although I like Kerri Russell - I don't wanna line TinyTom's pockets anymore.

A friend saw it today at an advanced screening and is raving about it. In his words: "It was great, and definitely the best of the Mission: Impossible films." Le sigh.
