Now tomorrow morning, I'll breakfast in bed, and then get straight up into the tweeds.

Hey, do you want to watch a 3.5-hour extravaganza of terror and death with a plastic cage strapped to your face? Hey, did you like the original Titanic, but wish you could also have a headache?
Sporfle! Sporfle salt water. Like I said back in 1997, It's "Gone With the Water."
Yummy costumes, though.

Has anyone seen this in 3D yet? I'm wondering if it adds a lot to the experience.

omg, that review is brilliant.
And guess what? I've never seen Titanic. Ever. Am I an anomaly? Surely there must be other people who haven't seen it. (And I know, don't call you Shirley.)

I haven't! When it came out, I was in the throes of my elitist college media identity. It was way beneath me, and looked stupid beside. And to top it off, an Irish friend said he wasn't going to see it because he thought it wasn't right to treat such a disaster as entertainment.
And I won't, either. The Jezebel review reinforced my determination.

Apparently for all the "I'm only going to do it in 3D if we do it right" PR by Cameron, Ebert's review said that there are whole sections that aren't converted at all.
I'm torn because, man, this is one of those films where I remember seeing it on the big screen was just so visually MASSIVE with the scale of everything but, yeah, it's also supercheesy.

I was a 13-year-old girl when Leo-mania was at its height (around when Titanic and Romeo + Juliet came out) and I reflexively kind of hated him. See, I was into ~~REAL ART like Nine Inch Nails and I was clearly so much better than my classmates swooning over a teen idol...
Yet in spite of all that, I did go see Titanic and ended up really enjoying it. It's a straight-up melodrama, but you know what, taken on those terms it's well done. In some ways, I actually like how old-fashioned and cheesy it is.

Dude, call me easy but I love this movie. Even when I was 15 (when it came out), I knew it wasn't very good and it was incredibly cheesy but dammit, I didn't care. If that makes me a plebe, whatever.
