When Kidman goes to restaurants, she asks to be served half of the normal portions of everything, so she doesn't overeat. This is smart.
The cheapskate in me orders full portions of everything, so I can bring it home and have a second meal of leftovers. The cheapskate in me is always overruled mid-meal by the hungry person in me, who eats everything on the plate and has no leftovers.

I go the soup and salad route a lot, which satisfies the dieter and the cheapskate. If there's free bread on the table, forget about it, I'm scarfing it.
Her natural hair thickness and texture looks a lot like mine. My curly hair has thinned out a lot in the last 10 years, I think it's just the aging process. I went for a short cut with layers that helps with volume and is super easy to style.
I remember when she first became famous I was THRILLED that a woman with frizzy red ringlets was considered beautiful (I think I was around 17/18 when Days of Thunder came out, which was her first big mainstream American movie). So I was disappointed when she started straightening it all the time.

Her 90s hair is a lot like mine, and I used to cite Kidman as the celebrity I most resemble. (According to my mother: not even close.) I'm sticking with the 90s hair until it comes back into fashion. There are very few celebrities (any?) who will just have a big mane of curly hair these days. They all straighten and smooth it and then put back in a few waves or curls.

As the one with the finest, thinnest, straightest hair you can imagine, I will never understand why anyone would straighten their beautiful curls. I know there are a zillion reasons, from just wanting something different to messed up cultural standards and I don't begrudge any woman the right to do as she pleases with her hair. But at the shallowest level, I weep at the loss of those glorious curls! My youngest had beautiful little corkscrews, and when she fell asleep in my lap I would entertain myself for absurdly long periods of time by gently pulling curls and watching them spring back.

My mom has curly red hair as well, though her curls are much looser than Nicole's (when she wore it long in the 70s it was wavy and not so much curly.) For my entire childhood she'd put hot rollers on almost every night and used tons of hair product to try to control the frizz. About 10 years ago she gave up, abandoned the hot rollers and most of the other hair products, and decided to live with frizzy hair. It was just too much effort. But she never even once contemplated straightening it and is kind of disappointed in her sister for getting keratin treatments.
I, on the other hand, got all the frizz but none of the curls. And I'm far too lazy to do anything about it other than using anti-frizz shampoo in the summer.

I learned so much on r/curlyhair on Reddit. Found a lot of gentle products (discard all shampoos with sulfate!) and tips on routine. The subreddit also has a lot of inspirational pictures and stories from people who've ditched straightening and embraced their curls. It takes time for curls to come back to life, but with proper care it can happen.

Nicole looking gorgeous and curly-haired at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opening gala. And according to Hello Magazine she was supported by her daughter Bella Cruise because Bella "liked" Nicole's post on attending the gala, hilarious.

She looks amazing, and her dress is LINED! I'm so, so, so tired of the sheer trend. Her hair also looks fantastic, is it her real hair? It looks real to me but I'm a bad judge of those things.

She wears wigs constantly in her acting roles, but I think this looks like her own hair.
I love this dress, and the hair. I am a total devotee of Nicole's 90's/early 2000's style, and it reminds me of that.

I also was wondering if it was a wig. I have curly hair and I have a hard time getting it to grow to the length that Nicole has it because it starts looking damaged once it's very far past my shoulders, and I don't color mine. In any case, I think she looks amazing with her natural hair texture back.
I think I've said this a million times, but I always feel a little betrayed by curly-haired celebrities who keep their hair straightened. I feel like they are saying curly hair is inferior. (Looking at you, Keri Russell.)
