I don't think that story is such a big deal. I wouldn't want to talk to every stranger that called me by name either. I know that celebrities have to be a little nicer than the average person, but I couldn't keep that up *all* the time, especially while working. I'm sure she has nice days too.

I'm not a kate winslet super fan, but she was hilarious on Extras.

The girl who posted it sounded a bit annoying. I'd get weirded out if some stranger called me by my first name. And Kate might have been getting into character or had a really rough scene or something and wasn't up for smiling and saying hello, it could've jolted her out of the emotion.

Everyone's a bitch sometimes and people can't expect celebs to not be like every other person. I swear some fans think celebs are robots or something.

Exactly. I'm sure she has her moments, and perhaps she's snotty sometimes. It doesn't make her evil-hell, as much as I hate Fishstick, I'm sure she can be a decent individual sometimes.

If so, then it's probably the same person who posted the same anecdote on the IMDb boards. Anyway, it turns out Kate had a meeting with the girl a few days later (the girl still left her number to Kate's agent that day), and they had a ten minute conversation, hugged, and took a pic together. And Kate got misty-eyed at the girl's cancer story. And then end of story?

Anyhoo, yeah, I guess it'll suck to be snubbed by a celeb like that (I guess Kate, while being far from perfect, was in a bad mood that day), but dude, was that girl posting the anecdote, like, everywhere on that day (the 16th)?

I have no doubt Kate can be a raging **** at times (can't everyone?) and is just really good at hiding it from the media...usually.

In other news, apparently she's close to signing up to do a modern rom-com with Cameron Diaz. Yeah, I know, but it's another step away from the corsted free spirit, which is all good. Although Nancy Meyers needs to make it a little shorter than the marathon that was Something's Gotta Give.
That movie felt like it was five hours long.

Actually I talked to the girl and she met Kate a second time and she was absolutely lovely. Kate didn't even recognize her the second time around I guess.

Oops, my bad. The girl was sick with something, and Kate replied that her late ex- bf had cancer.

Anyhoo, yeah, I would be pissed about a snub like that. But I don't think I would copy and paste the same story on a bunch of messageboards.

Eh, Kate isn't a saint. But she does seem like just a nice person who just happens to be a good actress.

She is put on such a high pedestal. It's really weird.

I am a bit excited to see her doing a comedy, though...I don't know how many of you caught her on Ricky Gervais's new show Extras (I believe her episode just aired in the US), but dude, she can do funny like no-one's business.
