At work today somebody asked me what my favorite part of the movie was, and after thinking it over for a minute I realized that it was probably the "Mamma Mia!" trailer.

Thinking back, I really believe Miranda's full frontal shot was unnecessary.

I think ALL the nudity was generally unnecessary, because it was gratuitous T&A and nothing more. But that's the foundation upon which SATC was built, and I'm not ashamed to say I don't mind it one bit. Especially since it was equal opportunity objectification--the neighbor in the shower? Maybe my favorite part of the film. Whew.

Ijustworkhere, I love your comments! I am so excited to see this movie -- hopefully, it will be out here in Krakow this weekend.

My first reaction about Miranda's nude scene was shock but secondly I thought: great shape!

Question: I didn't watch the series at the time, but have been watching it in syndication, so of course I'm getting it all out of order. I have seen quite a few eps on Cosmo TV lately, so I was wondering about the series finale, which I think I saw. In this ep, Carrie was in Paris with the Russian, who was ignoring her to work at a museum all the time. Big comes to Paris to "rescue" her. Charlotte and whats-his-name get notification that they're getting a Chinese baby girl. Samantha still has short hair from chemo. Was that the finale?
Little question: How old is Brady in the movie? Did they get the same kid to play him?

Yup, that was the final. Brady is five in the movie, and I think it's the same kid.
I found the movie underwhelming and way too long. It had it's moments though, and most of them involved Samantha.

Here's a question--I found the timeline to be a little confusing. How many years were supposed to have gone by between the final episode and the movie? Samantha was supposed to be 45 when the series ended, and then she was 50 in the movie, so that's 5 years, right? Carrie and the other girls were 38, and in the movie they were 40-41... so.... that makes no sense.

I think in the beginning of the movie Carrie states it's been three years.

In theory the girls are living in real time, so it's four years later and Carrie and Big have been dating on and off for 10 years as Charlotte announced, but they probably fudged the ages a bit. The episode where it was Carrie's 35th birthday where no one showed up was June 2001 (S4Ep1) so the 40 year old bride is technically 42, unless she was just representing for 40-somethings in general in Vogue.
