Charlotte as a character is all played out. Her storyline in the past film was to be worried that her life was too perfect. I mean, Lord help me. The only reason she is still around is because Kristen Davies is considered "the prettiest" by straight men.
I wouldn't mind seeing Samantha and Richard sharing a storyline. Not that he was a great guy or anything, but Kim Cattrall and James Remar had the best and most substantial chemistry of any of her couplings.

Yeah, I loved Samantha and Richard together way better than Samantha and Smith. I hated the way their storyline ended. One of my favorite SATC scenes is Samantha and Richard dancing by the pool to that Sade song. It makes me tear up every time.

Looks like the sequel is gonna happen! I, for one, am excited - I loved the movie. However, I really wonder where they are gonna take it. Don't tell me Carrie & Big will try to have a kid. One of them cheats on the other. Charlotte can't get her kids into an exclusive private school. Miranda is bitchy. Samantha has lots of sex. I hope that Miranda moves on from Steve. Sorry Steve fans, but I just never warmed to him.

I was confused about that too. I guess, technically, he did bail on the wedding since he was late (but late by how much?) I suppose but within the same time frame he changed his mind. So I was confused as to why Carrie wouldn't hear him out. I thought it was clear that he was saying "I'm here for the wedding" or something to that effect; I don't remember him making it seem as if he was there to dump her on the spot. She was willing to hear him out months later.....so I suppose I didn't understand why she just didn't try and listen at that time either. I suppose she was so embarrassed and humiliated she didn't want to speak with him but since he didn't bail full-on and took him back anyway I figured she good have taken him back at that time too. If she was worried about what the guests were thinking I figured they could have just made up some excuse to the guests as to why he was late since weddings never seem to start on time anyway. This was one of the most annoying things about the movie for me. The whole thing with the love letters wasn't all that impressive a gesture for me, either, so I really don't get why we were supposed to see that as the "Yes! He really does love her!" moment.

I loved Samantha and Richard. I hated how they broke them up. James Remar could make me want to see another SATC movie.

I think in reality, Samantha would have been fine with an open relationship with Richard, and they would have been the perfect couple.

I hated it too. I think in reality, Samantha would have been fine with an open relationship with Richard, and they would have been the perfect couple. Word, word, word. The TV series was about single women in their 30s (40s for Sam) and in the film are traditionally coupled off. Fair enough, as the film was about compromise; but I hope they continue to explore Sam's character. She and Richard would be the most ideal long term solution if they want to pair her off again. I've been watching S1 of Dexter and James Remar was fantastic. I hope they bring him back.

I liked Richard too, but Sam doesn't strike me as the open relationship type, going by all the trouble she went through in that Atlantic City episode, and her annoyance/ competitiveness during their threesome with the young hostess that time. She strikes me as a sexually liberated woman and non-judgmental of other people's activities, but when she's actually in a relationship she takes it seriously. Or maybe she's too self-centered for an open relationship. I dunno, I can't see her sharing a guy for long. Like even when she left Smith to go sleep with Richard she treated it as a break up at the moment, she wasn't sneaking around or trying to open up the relationship or anything Carrie.
